If you literally have to press the gas pedal to the floor to hold 65mph, you have bigger problems than a leaky exhaust manifold gasket.

sounds like a clogged cat any news on the car today?

yeah that's what i was going to say, how do you know it's an exhaust leak? it sounds exactly like a clogged catalytic converter.
it took me 30 seconds to reach 30mph when mine clogged at ASS '08

That's probably why it's leaking from between the head and manifold. There's so much backpressure from the clogged cat and it gives the exhaust gas nowhere to go, so it's pushing it's way out through there.
Sounds like time for a high flow cat and full exhaust.

hmm ill have em look into the cat, but the mech said it was a warped gasket cuz the noise is all up front loud as hell theres nothin in the back, and it wasnt completely to floor to hold 65 thanks evry1

If there's no noise in the back, that means the noise (and exhaust gas) isn't getting to the back and something is stopping it from getting there....like a clogged cat.
Do you have anything else done to the exhaust besides the header?
I have an idea. With the car running, put your hand directly behind the exhaust tip. You should be able to feel the exhaust pulses hitting your hand. I would guess if it's a clogged cat, it would be more like a constant flow instead of pulses. I don't know if this would actually work, but it sounds good :thumb:

the pulse is very low can barely feel it im debating on running her without a cat till i can get a new one cuz here in california we have to use a special OBDII aproved cat thats like 300 everywhere! havent decided yet. and work done, theres just the header, and my dynomax muffler

there's no "special" cats just get an OBDII universal cat for $60 at autozone and weld it on....

In California, you do have to have a CARB exempt and OBDII certified cat. The Mangnaflow California cats are around $200. You really don't have any other choice. Run it without for now, and hopefully you don't get caught or have to get it smogged anytime soon.

Yep. Good thing I don't live in CA.

Magnaflow California cat I hope. It'll have the CARB EO number etched into the bottom, telling the inspection station that it's legal.

so i finally got that new cat swapped in and it helped a bit but nothing to noticeable. the guy at this shop said same thing warped gasket above the flange, plus the bottome of the header keeps knockin on the frame so its gotta go. im considerin pacesetters ive only heard of one person who had a negative experience with em, o yea hes also gunna do a hi flo cat back for me too 2.5 for a $100 but im not jumpin on that just yet, thanks though guys
