Well, a bunch of people complained about the video last time, and a bunch of people wanted to see more, so I'm giving you more. Screw the people who don;t wanna see it, they don't have to download it :D. unfortunately, exhaust is still stock and we've had the car for 2 months...well, that's not all that long I guess. <_< :huh:

and yeaaah, I finally got around to doing everything with the new computer. Try NOPI.com. We bought an Apex'i N-1 Turbo back from there for my friend's Eclipse and they had pretty good service. ok, I figure that most people are done with this thread, so I doubt I'll get many replies, but do you guys want me to post all of the videos I make, or just the Alero ones? We have a few other cars, like a Grand Am GT and a Mitsubishi Eclipse turbo, and I don't know whether you guys would want to see them or not...If so, what forum/section should I post them in?

Thats pretty sweet sounding intake man. I just put a CAI on my 3400 today, and damn that thing is nice.

sweet...I love the sound of our low-tech GM V6's. Mine is a 3.3 and it sounds great, at least on the intake side. The exhaust sounds like a 3.8 with a hole in the muffler lol. Here is a video of me driving another car from our website, my friend's Mitsubishi Eclipse turbo. There is a clip in there where the mic is beside the intake, and it sounded sweet, but it distorted kinda bad when I converted the file to .wmv format to compress it. It's still pretty big @~50MB, but it's still clear, too.

anyone know if this aem intake will fit a 2000 alero? im pretty sure it will since all of the aleros have the same body style, and to the best of my knowlege, the ecotechs didnt come out till 2003... but i really want one of these now :) its crazy that just an intake can make the car sound like its got exhaust too...

If it's a 2.4, it will fit. Your's may be a different part number, just check aempower.com for the 2000 Cavalier 2.4. I dunno, they may be the same. I don't want you guys to get the wrong idea...I'm not sure which clip you guys think sounds like exhaust, but the really loud clip is where the microphone is in the engine compartment, so the sound is waaayyyy amplified. This sound is loud, even in the passenger compartment, but it doesn't necessarily sound like exhaust. The sound comes from the front of the car, just like exhaust comes only from the rear (where applicable ;) ). However, to hear an intake open up on the car beside you is somehow more intidating than the exhaust. If you have a major street sleeper, you would still have an intake, but maybe not exhaust. However, everyone and their mom have exhaust.

i search for cavalier on the aem site and all i get are CAIs for the 2.2l...
is that actually a CAI or it is the short ram? they show a short ram for the 00-02 and 96-99 2.4l Z24... part #s 22-445(96-99) and 22-446(00-02)
is that what youre refering to?

as far as it sounding like youve got exhaust. . . i think the WAI muffles the true rumble of the engine and the CAI, since there's alot less to it, just doesnt... so you get the rumble of the engine through the CAI and it sounds like youve got an exhaust...

Her car doesn't sound like a Honda. If we're talking about intake sounds, I bet most Honda's sound better. As for how it would sound, it would sound just like any other mid-sized 12 valve GM V6, or at least like the 3.1 or 3.4. The engine makes the noise, the intake just muffles it. The V6's sound good with an intake...she had a 3.4 with a huge WAI before she got the 2.4.
