Ok I have the reverse halo gauges installed in my car but I want the needles to be red or orange color during the day...instead of the plain white on white. However, if I paint the needles orange or red..then they will NOT glow at night correct?
Is there any special needle paint I can buy, or just buy aftermarket needles that are orange or red....I hate the plain white needles on the white gauges.....hard to see?

You'd probably be looking for a colored epoxy. Basically just clear coat paint with color in it.

you could use opaque paint on the surface of the needle that you look at directly. the light from the LED would not be obstructed as long as you only do that one surface.

make sure you paint the backside of the needle that does not face you! if you paint the top surface it wont light up.

I thought the light could come out through the sides of the needles...and that the back of the needles are already white, so painting the back wouldn't be effective??

could find Yalero's old thread and put LEDs under it, so just the needle lights up a different color?

^ possibly the best idea, though if he doesn't have a soldering gun, then he just can't do it. :p

I've got mine apart and working on this now. The back side of the needles are originally painted white. Get rid of the white paint and replace with the color of your choice and they should light up nicely. I'm working on a nice bright orange. Hopefully once I finish moving I can finalize that little project.
