So im installing a amp and Dual 10" subs in my trunk tomorrow. but the only snag is, when can i ground it.. is there already a spot in the truck with a ground.. or do i need to drill and tap in?
just sand down a part really good to get the paint off and ground it

the easiest way is to ground it to the chassis but it will give u about 1.5 ohms of resistance so u r better off runing a ground to the battery

i've never heard that recommended.... ever. There's good reason...........Its the wrong thing to do. For the mear fact that you want the ground as short as possible... Do not hook the negativecable directly to the battery! There is a reason the factory never grounds directly to the negative post in any vehicle.

under the back seats if you just fold them down there is a bolt unscrew it until your wire fits under it. tighten back down.
Done.:ninja:
^^ i have all my air ride grounds there, compressors, relays and valves and i have a second battery in my trunk for my 3 amps

I always use the strut bolt because it's easy. But the seat bolt sounds good too.
Def DONT run a ground wire back to the battery.. the chassis is like a huge wire, it's more efficient that way.

i know not to do it to the battery, i also know that its best to be short as possible.. i just wasnt sure where everyone else put it.
So thanks for all the input. i Think i will indeed go with the seat or strut bolt.
ill post pics after i finish the install.. im getting the packages tomorrow
