IDK I know guys have bought eBay rotors and been happy with them, but IMO brakes are too important to leave to an eBay auction

That's how I feel. Nervous to take the chance. I'm one of those brand name believers. I mean if you go on the company website they get into detail about them and make them sound amazing with test results and what not but anyone can really do that you know? Everyone wants to sell their product so hmmm I don't really know of a good name brand pad and rotor to buy and i don't know weather I should get drilled and slotted or not i've never had them?


i see so many posts on people who have r1 brakes. well 2 questions r1 sells axxis pads is that what you all have? and for the rotors they have eline and premuim for our cars but dont explain what the difference is both come in drilled and slotted so what one did you guys buy eline or premium there is a big price difference.

Life span chould actualy be longer, due to the brakes being cooler, however drilled slotted rotors do somtimes give off a humming noise when braking that annoys some people. others just do not notice it. They are a litle more agressive than stock, Many people have used our setups for daily driven cars and have been quite happy.

I bought Front and Rear R1 Rotors with all four wheel pads (Semi-Metallic) on Ebay for 230 US shipped... Like bad99Olds said, I could not be much more happier than that.


They are WAY superior to Oem.

I don't plan on doing any autocross or any other high end applications with my car but I definitely want to ditch the OEM rotors. I've seen where people say cross-drilled are more succeptable to cracking and slotted tend to wear the pads faster, any recomendations on one or the other?

Yes, drilled rotors are more succeptable to cracks, but that would be in really harsh conditions. Under regular use, they should be good. Dont really know much about the slotted rotors. They both have the same concept though, just different methods of accomplishing it.

I thought the point of the slotted rotors was to help get the dust from the pads away from the mating surfaces? The drilled ones are more for heat dissipation, I think. Not sure...

that's what I thought as well, but heard that with the pad rubbing on the edge of the slot it tended to wear the pad down faster

Slotted and x-drilled btoh work in the same way, they reduce brake fade and remove heat from the rotor while stopping.

You come to a complete stop from a high rate of speed, the rotors get very hot, in fact sometimes they have been known to turn red, but I've never seen that

i've been running ebay pads and rotors for 4 yrs, life of the hardware and safe stopping distance for factory sized equipment is well above expectations.

im confused these pads are diff notall 4 the same its 2 one way and 2 another how do u know which go on which side? and this talk about greasing slider pins?
