yeap....i finally took off the tint. It came off very easy, just heated it up.....used a razor to get the edge up and peeled it off. the thing that took the longest was getting the adhesive off. But we just kept putting adhesive remover on a towel, wiping it on one spot, then scraped it off with the razor. Anyways....it was a very sad day..... boring stock look FTL:(

I can't wait to get my windows tinted.. oklahoma law allows tint that lets 25% light through lol.. that'd be 75% tint right?

put your big girl panties on Billy, the record high in Albany is like 100, that's barely hot enough for the tint to be effective anyway.

Plus, I don't see how you can consider tint a mod, that's like putting sunglasses on and saying you had your eyes done

it would be 25% tint. by most ratings lower number = darker. u wouldn't even see 75%

Sucks u had to pull the tint off.

My alero is tinted 35% all the way around. Including front windshield. I dont get pulled over. But then again 35% isnt too dark.

Mine is 15% all around with a 5% 7" eyebrow. I get pulled over about once every 3 months. But usually most cops around here are pretty chill about it. They were NOT happy when I had the front windshield tinted.

They may still nail you for the rear...hopefully not but if so it is going to be a royal pain in the ass to get that off.

in NY, you can paint the rear window black. it doesn't matter at all

I had 35% and so did Billy, both of ours is gone, so it must be kinda dark...

no. its litteral. back window can be totally black. rear passanger windows can be limo tint. fronts can block 5%. (whats on from factory)

Wrong. All sides must be 70%. Rear window can be whatever you want it to be. Billy wouldn't have had to strip the rear window tint if it could be limo'ed

and i didnt get tint so it could be effective in the sun, even though that is one other good thing about it. I got it because i have a maroon car and tint looks really good on dark colors. if i had a white car i would leave the windows stock, cause i like that look better.




For those of you who havent gotten in trouble yet.....WATCH OUT FOR THE TROOPERS. Everyone that i know who has gotten a ticket for tint was from a trooper. So if you see one staring in your direction (and you see them before you pass them), roll down your window:lol:

my windows blocked like... 23% (factory comes with 5%) and i got busted because it was illegal.

essentially... if they can't look through both front windows and see clear as day, its illegal. :lol:

my state allow 35%, mine are 15%, never get pulled over.

eh i got 20% on the 2 rears and the back windshield and 35% on the two fronts haven't been bothered, most of the time any troubles go away once they get to flip my switches and toss me around like a rag doll in my car

window tint laws are just a reason to pull you over and find other reasons to ticket you.i mean i see why really dark is not good to a point but still i dum excuse to pull us over

im putting my rims on in like 2-3 weeks....i have about 40-50% tread left and i want to make sure i can make it through summer without buying new ones. helllllll no im not getting ready to sell my car! I love ruby;)

Its all a game really the days you haven't been stopped you win, but all it takes is that one time to get stopped to ruin 200 bucks in tint. It happened to me and I've worked around cops, firefighters, and public safety people for the last six years. Once you get stopped by a cop thats an ahole then its over.

Its only a matter of time really....enjoy while it last is what I say

im pissed off cause the cop wasnt in court. they asked me if i took it off....said yes....they let me go. I COULD HAVE KEPT MY TINT ON!! i was pissed and happy at the same time cause i didnt get any points or a fine. fuckin bull.....i hate cops so much:lol:

tints don't matter in my town really. the cops have more important things to worry about i guess. there's a very large amount of people in my town with tints and i usually don't hear of anyone getting problems unless they get their windshield tinted very dark or they have like 5% tints all around.

attention guys in NY: they are really cracking down on tints because they cannot see if you are on your phone or not, i keep getting away with it though, it helps to let the cops know your father works for the mayor or keep the switchbox for the air ride and let em play with it lol

And if you have weapons in the car...when I got mine taken off I asked my aunt, who is a city cop about this...
they ARE cracking down. Stick with 50% tint in the fronts at most NY'ers, if any at all.

I've only heard of people having issues with tint twice up here, usually the cop's have bigger fish to fry so when they stop you they don't make a deal out of stuff unless it's a safety issue. the only time they will make you remove tint is if your being lippy or they are a jerk. I can't imagine how many tax dollars would be wasted if they went around making people peel there tint everyday.

I got pulled over in Nov. for mine, but I knew it was illegal on the front windows. I had the tint done, and the place I went to put on this "new California" tint, that blocks more UV rays than actual light, it was real light tint, but my eyes are very light sensitive, so I had them throw another layer on, and it made it illegal. When I got pulled over, she gave me a 48 hr. compliance notice, so I went home and peeled one layer off... went in the next morning, showed them what I had done, and they said ok... of course, when I went back, I left my sunroof open, and parked facing the sun, so it lit up the interior real nice :ninja::coolio::p

i always forget to mention that my dad is a retired corrections officer of 25 years. He gets pissed when i tell him i forgot to tell the cop, but im never thinking of that when i get pulled over. I WILL REMEMBER NEXT TIME (if there is a next time;)) haha

my dad got me out of one ticket when we were talking to the district attorney before i went up to the judge. the guy dropped it no problem...... that badge is fuckin bad ass! im gonna take it from him when he doesnt need it anymore (if he lets me):lol:
