Well today I started to work on this. Stripped the trunk. Swept out all the junk.

There you can see what "sound dampner" the factory has installed. I intend to go right over this. Already have at the drivers side...
Heres the trunk lid:

Note you need to make some cuts to relieve the material to get it to stick TIGHT to the metal. If its not tight to the metal its not doing anything for you.
My car has some "goop" on it. I think its the rust protection crap they put on aftermarket... Its like wax...

I used a razor blade to scrape most of it away. Then Brake Cleaner to get it gone. Once clean and dry I use a dewaxing/degrasing agent you use before painting a body panel. Gets all the crap off without cutting the paint like other solvents might.
Heres that same area but clean:

whose Camaro Z28?
My Dads.
It got hit last summer... And he was totally cool headed about it...
4 years earlier he backed into it being a dumbass... Blamed it on me as my car was parked out aways... And wanted to fight about it...

Now to do the drivers side rear and the rear deck. Still got the roof, doors and front wheel wells...
So far I used my partial roll and one full roll in the trunk. Im on my 2nd (of 3) full rolls... Just started with it.

so you don't have to cover every inch.. just the big flat parts?
that looks like such a bitch. i wouldn't want to attempt taking out seats and carpeting in my alero. i'm too much of an idiot to know how to put it back and shit.

i've removed all that before... on a whim. but that last comment is :emotlol: worthy, regardless.
i just always have trouble removing the C pillar panels and the back deck. i really gotta figure out how those come off, one of these days.

i'd imagine the roof isn't all that hard to do.... just getting the stuff down is a pain.

I can say from experience, doing the inside of the doors is a royal PITA. Drivers door is done, and I've got another 20 minutes or so left on the passenger door. I started with the doors on mine, so moving forward things should get easier for me hopefully.
