was that supposed to say "color"? i think you're talking about wire loom. yes, colored wire loom is merely a borderline rice visual mod.

my intake came with new vacuum tube that was colored, that's why in the pics of my engine you see the blue

I use bright yellow/orange wire covers on the important ones I want to keep track of because I'm getting old.

Damn things get all warped and melt somtimes, too. Got heat management issues, I guess.

I think air intakes look good and they perform, I also like the way strut tower bars look they stiffen up the body nicely, also a header makes the engine bay look nice and they perform, turbo's look even sweeter and they perform alot, same goes with superchargers they add a nice touch to the engine bay and they perform. lol but they aren't exactly cheap but in my mind there is nothing wrong with a nice clean looking engine bay.

some guys replace their spark plug wires with better ones, when their stocks get old/cracked/dried out. and those you can buy in different colors.

other then that, loom is a temp thing... it never lasts all that long.

I'm removing my loom and replacing it with heat resistant braiding.

I had some left over

ok, to save this thread from certain disaster, i must ask if there ever was an engine cover made for the 3400 that would fit our cars? my mom's 3400 torrent has a cool looking cover but it won't work because the air intake is on the left side of the engine opposed to the right on our cars.

i use the wire and hose covers to keep my engine looking clean, and for me it doesnt look ricey but what I see and what another person sees can be two different things

there is nothing wrong with detailing the engine bay, some people like color, some people like braided hose, chrome, polished aluminum, what ever put the cream in your twinkie go for it, just do it in good taste

the ecotec does not have spark plug wires, all it has is a boot, ontop is the coil pack

Says You.

Let people do what they want to their engine bay, it all depends on the look they are going for. Not all bays need to be boring.

Just don't pull a Billy job.
