Hi all
Does someone have a how-to to take the part between the front seats apart? If possible a video? I have a 2 dr automatique, if that makes a differents.
I want to install LEDS in there and when i went to the store, there are SO many types of LEDs, which ones should I take?
Thanx!

Ok, remove the little clip that holds the shifter knob on (on the front side of the shifter knob). Then lightly pry up on the bezel around the shifter, the part that has your front cupholder in it) and it should pop up. Then disconnect the wire to the ETC switch. Now, open the console up and take the rubber mat out of the bottom. There are some screws in there. Then slide your seats all the way back and there is a bolt on each side holding it on. Then up near the front is a screw on each side (you have to pop the little oval shaped covers off). I think that's it.

the one closes to the stero is ok once you change your shifter knob to something else, btw anyone know where to find a cheap but decent shift knob, i look to autozone but nothing suited my fancy

I have a Bonneville shift knob. Mostly just because it's a little different. It's really nothing special.

but in the how to, which LED should i buy????
cherrington17
04-03-2009, 08:29 PM
depends. you can get a direct replacement (not sure what size bulb it is) or like what i did, and just drill holes in the white plastic underneath.. then mount 7x5mm leds underneath the PRND321 spots.

i got the 194 replace ment in the PRND321, easy just twist it, it comes right out

Sweet... what about the one for the cup holder( where your water bottle is) What LED did you put there ? a 2Volt+resistor?
cherrington17

mine? that definitely has a how to for it. mine is a little trickier then just that.
half way down page 1:

i used 3mm (cuz i had them) you can use 5mm. i used those before the 3mm.. and it worked just fine.

You didnt put any resistors on the LEDs?
cherrington17
04-04-2009, 08:20 AM
i put them on the wires, down further. it makes life easier, in this case.
as long as you have a resistor in the line... ANYWHERE... it works. it doesn't need to be attached directly TO the led.

i wish i knew more aobut resistors and stuff, then id have my car apart doing all that
kevin1114
04-06-2009, 03:31 PM
And how many ohm resistor did you put?
cherrington17
04-06-2009, 03:49 PM
depends on what color/led your using....
white/blue = 470
red = 960
iirc

its gonna be all Blue relayed to a switch on the center console.
Is the site super bright leds trustworthy??? whats the delay for shipping ???
For the PRND123 I think I'd go with twist ons... unless normal LEDs arn't much harder to install...

just get
http://www.superbrightleds.com/store/html/images/wled-x5.jpg (it has 4 leds on the sides and one in the middle.) its available in their store.
and be done with it. adding leds takes alot more work. You gotta prevent shorting... hide leads/wires. pain in the ass.
yank the bulb out (can push from the bottom with a small screwdriver and the bulb pops outta the holder) and replace it with the one from superbrightleds, that i posted.

LOL SWEET!!! was it hard??
cherrington17
04-07-2009, 01:04 PM
Not tremendously. More tedious... Like any led work.
Pretty sure I had a thread for that, too

04-07-2009, 01:33 PM
I meant the carving out part lol
cherrington17
04-07-2009, 01:36 PM
Used a dremel.... It was the tedious part.
I cut the symbol out of a sheet of paper, used that as a template, painted the symbol on it, then cut the painted part. Filled it with epoxy after.

What about the exterior lights? all of them too?
If so...WOW ... i got a lot of work for this summer :D
cherrington17
04-07-2009, 02:04 PM
Yes,all them too. Keep in mind, hid is the best for headlights. Don't waste your money on the led ones.
I'm curious to see if the led versions are as bright as the halogens... I'm guessing, no
kevin1114
04-07-2009, 02:18 PM
Why not, I m sure they d be real nice!
What gage wire do you use for your custom worked LEDs
cherrington17
04-07-2009, 03:54 PM
22 mostly. Some old 18ga is lingering
And with led headlights, I fear the led's ability to project...long distance

I see...
your a real source of LED info!!

it shouldnt matter how dark your tints on the tails are they should still be very bright.
