abou 3 months ago i got my exhaust changed around, got the resonator taken off and he put in 3 things (i completly forget what they're called now) and no real muffler. Soooo my problem is this with the system now, there is almost no back pressure soooo when i get about 2500 RPM's you can hear the exhaust basically whistling through the pipes, and it's a loud annoying whistle like when the wind is blowing really hard and just pissing you off.
Now the questions is....if i just get a performance muffler put on will that give me some back pressure and solve my problem??? and if so what should i get?

If you have no backpressure, whistling and wind blowing would be the last thing you'd hear. If your exhaust is open, there should be no such noises. I would find out what he put in/on your exhaust before I went any further. The whole point of a performance muffler is to decrease backpressure while "muffling" the sound. Maybe you should take a pic of your exhaust and post it...?

i took it in and got it figured out for the most part. the whistling was coming from when the exhaust was splitting to come out of the 2 outlets because it was coming so fast. soooo he made some changes but it still looks like im going to have to go with a single outlet to get rid of the whistling. does anyone have an exhaust set up on their car now with a single outlet that is like oval or something to fill up the space pretty good but not look like a damn coffee can?

You don't want to decress backpressure too much. If your exhaust is doing what your saying, you lost performance with this mod. Cars like our Alero make horsepower with backpressure.
I don't know how big your pipes are, but if they are 2.5 inches, a muffler will help you out. You can get a Flowmaster, this way it won't sound like rice.
IMO the most you want to put on an Alero is 2.5 inches. 3 is too big
