Well first thing you need is test station to make sure they're all same color haha.
You should be good... Cuz stuff from hong kong is 90% reliable. Depends on how much you sand the tips and how bright you want the light. I could say 1,000 and you could say it's not bright enough. Or it looks uneven... Personally I got some cold cathodes on order for under the dashs and seats. If I don't like the color I'll use some of Cherry's posts as a guide. I'm just not sure I like the idea of LEDs for even lighting, if done by me...

4 on each side is what i got. lights up great. also got 4 under both rear seats, 2 in each air vent, 1 in each door handle, 4 to replace my speedo lights, 2 to light up the PRND321, and to in each headlight.

I have 2 9" LED strips (bought from Autozone) under my dash and they light up the whole footwell evenly. I think they look good. You can check mine out by looking at the pictures in my post under the title "NEWBies Mods."

how do i wire a resistor to an led

jayson_waltz

u solder it to one of the leads. everyone says it doesn't matter which one, but i had to use my negative one otherwise it wouldn't light up.

just one end of the resistor or both ends

PappaSmurf

Only one end. You should cut the end of the LED lead that you are going to attach the resistor to, and then solder one end of the resistor to the lead you cut previously. From what I gather, the ONLY reason you are cutting one lead of the LED is to not have so much length after attaching the resistor.

yep thats all.

also, when putting led's in a area like the footwells where you want the light to spread out, sand down the tip of the led's a little ways til the tops is flat. this way you will avoid spotting.
