View Full Version : My '00 LD9 Alero
So far all I've done is clear corners, painted bezels, a 75 shot wet kit, audio setup, American Racing 17" wheels, KYB Struts, and lowered it. R1 Rotors are due to arrive Monday and I'm painting the calipers this weekend. Probably will install a less ugly exhaust too, haha. Next on the list is pulling the MP45 blower kit off a dying 4dr, hopefully this month, and only for $150! :yahoo:
And as for the calipers; Everyone has red...think yellow would look good?

I'd paint the calipers either silver to match the metal rings around the rims, or white to match the car

Damn, nice and clean. Yellow calipers would stand out ALOT, lol personally I wouldn’t do it, I would go with black or white, considering the black and white theme you seem to have, lol

silver calipers would be perfect to stand out with the silver lip.

White caliper?! NO NO!!
I'd go with a silver or black color. Nothing else. Maybe a dark red color would do, but you'd have to have some red in your scheme, which you dont.

you gonna feed the nitrous pre or post charge on the blower setup?

silver caliper.
yellow or red would look dumb.
what else is yellow or red? use coordinating colors, or you'll look kinda foolish

clean man i like it.
Thanks for the comments guys.

I plan on ditching the nitrous once I get the blower, or I'll more than likely break something on stock internals. After the blower I want to do full exhaust w/header and then secret cams. I figure that should keep me content for a bit. :p

Wow that's a clean car
I agree, go with Silver Calipers. Black will blend too much with the rims, which I like BTW. Red would look OK, but I think Silver is your best bet.
Yellow, ummmm.... no
Well I painted one caliper silver, but it just didn't look all that great. It dried into a semi-gloss gray and just looked like a clean factory caliper. I ended up going with dark red, which gives a nice bit of color without standing out too much. I just finished putting it all back together so I'll have to snap some pics when I get some daylight.
want to sell the nitrous setup?
My buddy has dibs on it for his 'Zuki Samurai. I guess the Chrysler 5.9L motor he transplanted into it wasn't scary enough...
Newest mod, but still not enough. And yes I know...I need to clean my bay! :P

Lookin Good! I'd suggest looking into Meth/Water injection to keep it cool and prevent internal damage....

Still spraying nitrous on it?
No. I already sold the setup to a friend. LSJ injectors, Meth, and a 2.6" pulley are on the list, but I need to get the exhaust taken care of first.

nice ride man. since you don't have the stock foglights as i see.. you should possibly try intercooling if you can

Meth/Water injection will drop 50 degrees, very important cause the S/C gets 'heat soak' pretty bad (also prevents deadly knocking).

i just want to know in the first set of pics of your car did you have two clips
in the cubby hole one clip looks like it has hollow points possible a 9mm and
the other looked like regular bullets just wanted to know thats all
Yeah, 9mm. Hollows are Corbon. The regular looking ones are Czech steel core rounds.

I guess I don't have to ask about your 9mm ammo, someone else beat me too it. I think some people call that a keen sense of observation famous

C2;458689']red calipers work on any car
QFT...and this is because red is on almost every car in the form of taillights.
my vote: red or black. (OR do black brackets and red calipers.)

Black brackets with red calipers FTW!
Whatever you do, just don't paint the brackets red!
i painted mine white....gets dirty way too fast, but if you get them powdercoated then you can keep them clean without removing the paint from the caliper
