I keep getting an ABS warning message and chime, it comes once in a while and goes away. The brakes function normally, it this just a nuisance warning or should a costly trip to the dealer be in order...................

gacorm-
you might want to run it down to your dealer. It could be just the ABS sensor or harness, but it could be worse like the entire hub assembly (the trac off light would come on for this when it starts to go). I would say just go get it looked at and see what they say. Is your car still under warranty?

that was happening to me for a long time..i had to get BOTH wheel bearings replaced, there was something wrong w/ the sensors.
also..ive been hearing clunking noises when i make turns, only when im going slow tho. neither the dealership nor the shop knows what it is. my car's been taken apart like 3 times. has this happened to anyone? thanks

I took it to the dealer and he said that the left front bearing assembly had to be changed. It was 2 months ago with an aftermarker one, could it be the connection. And can this affect normal breaking under dry condition? By the way the track off light is on when the ABS message appears

ABS and Trac. Control, the two go hand in hand. It can sometimes be an internal hub issue whereas the sensor just stops sending a signal, yet the hub is actually still ok, or as it was explained to me, there is an extremely small wire on the rear of the hub that can get cut by rocks or snow. At my dealership, they go through multiple hubs weekly due to that wire getting cut, but because of safety issues, they ARE NOT allowed to just splice it back together, and must replace the whole thing. My new alero does not have ABS so I cannot physically check this myself. Maybe someone else can, and if this is the problem and you are out of warranty, try splicing it yourself. If you do, I would also use heat shrink tubing (maybe even doubled if possible) to keep water and crud out of it.
