So I have a black GLS with the tan/beige leather interior as well as all the gold trim. I'm planning on doing some interior lighting soon, primarily using blue LEDs, but I'm a bit unsure what I want to do with the rest of the car as far as a color scheme goes.
Right now the biggest parts I want to tie in are the rims, calipers, door handles, and bumper mesh.
Here is a comparison of the gold/silver mesh:

The gold ties the emblems together nicely and I think it looks a little more unique, but I'm still not sure which one I want to use. They match much better in person by the way, the sun throws the color off a bit.
Here is a photoshop of the car with gold/flat gold rims, chrome door handles, and tints. In my opinion it ties even better with gold trim around the windows (not pictured). These aren't the rims I'm interested in but were the first that popped up on Google.

If I went that route I'm thinking about painting the calipers blue, but if I went with chrome rims I'd paint them blue or gold. Eventually I'm planning on getting new calipers so they'd actually be the desired color and not just painted.
I absolutely despise ricers which is why I'm looking to get more input. I admit the gold rims might look a bit tacky but I thought I'd consider them an option anyways. That said, I'm open to all criticism but please be constructive. Thanks for your time. :)

Atmosphere,
NO GOLD RIMS!!! It does tie in with the hood front emblem but THAT IS IT. The gold mesh doesnt match the emblem through the pictures. I would say stick with the silver or even Hyper silver rims, silver mesh and be on the lookout for a silver emblem, (if I ever get my bodykit then I will send you mine).
Also you have to take into consideration that with the outside looking nice with black and silver, you could easily tie in the blue leds. Not so much if you go with black and Gold, then you would have to go with something like an orange or yellow LEDs.
Just my two cents.

PappaSmurf,
Do you suppose blue calipers would work to help tie in the interior? Or should I try gloss black? I'm not sure where else I could tie in the blue.
Thanks for the input.

I would have to agree with pappa smurf on this one. Dont build your car based on what you have, base it on what you want. If you like polished aluminum rims rather than gold rims, dont sacrifice your rim choice over some emblems. Get the chrome emblems to go with your polished wheels. If you do like the gold rims, go for it, it actually doesnt really look bad, its just a matter of personal taste. For the calipers, go with the blue to match the car. Also I just saw your door handles. If you are going for gold, those will probably have to go.

Are you refering to the interior lights that you want to do, or are you re-doing the interior itself in blue?
If I had your car I would go with a black and silver OUTSIDE theme, and then leave the interior (tan/beige) alone EXCEPT for adding the blue LEDs. If you wanted to tie it ALL in together, then order you a blue LED underbody kit, like I did. I am currently running the all silver theme OUTSIDE and the original interior on the inside with Blue LEDs for accent lighting and also I also have the blue underbodys. That way when someone looks in my car at night (when the LEDs are on, I can turn the underbodys on and impress them even more.
I think that you should treat the exterior and the interior of a car like two different ball games, with the saem general concept. For example, Softball and Baseball.

Valley, His car is black. LOL
Atmosphere,
as Valley has stated dont sacrifice anything you want fore something you already have, i.e. the gold rims because of the gold emblem, rip that B%#CH off. I think that if you were to build the car upon what you want, you are going to be more than happy with it and screw what everyone else thinks. If I was to listen to my friends and family, I would have green underbody lights and blue lights on the inside...They dont know what paint job I am working on. Hopefully it comes out before ASS.

I was referring to the interior lights. Your descriptions help a lot though, thanks. I'm planning on leaving the interior as is and doing some blue accent lighting and white LED utility lighting (map lights, dome lights, and foot wells when the doors are open). Would it be possible to do blue gauges with white needles?
On a similar note, what are the largest rims that can be installed (with low-profile tires) without modification to the wheel wells, etc?

Atmo,
From what I have heard and researched on here, Someone stated that the largest tire size you can go without issues like rubbing, is 18's. I COULD BE wrong, so dont take me for my word on that yet, I am still trying to get some rims for my HO, even though it looks like I will be riding steelies to ASS.
If you are to do the blue interior lighting, I would ONLY do the white leds for things like the map lights and the reading lights for the back passengers. I have changed my footwell and dome light to blue LEDs, they only come on when the door is opened. If you need pictures as a reference, look in appearance section of this forum and look for the thread titled NEWBies Mods, you will see what I have dont to my car.
Also, Blue gauges with white needles sound like they would look sharp. I installed the Blue LEDs behind my gauges and am still absolutely in love with the mod, However it also changes your needles to the same color. I dont mind it that much tho. I am thinking of getting purple (or red) indiglo needles for mine tho.

Are indiglo needles an actual product or is it just the practice of changing the needle color?

These are an actual product from importintelligence.com. They are something like 70 bucks. Expensive but the only way *I* know how to change the color of only the needles themselves.

Sorry, there are referred to as intelliglow needles, not indiglo needles.

PappaSmurf: Valley, His car is black. LOL
lol must have not been paying attention
some guy at the tire shop told me 20s is the biggest with no issues, then again, maybe he just wanted to get rid of his 20's.

Probably.? I have no expertise in this area, cause like stated above I am in the process of working on getting rims for mine.
I could of swore tho, that soomeone stated on here the biggest you could go with no issues is 18's. I am sure you could go bigger if you wanted to spend the money to lift your ride. I am actually wanting to drop mine and put 17's on it to eliminate the fugly wheel gap.
