so i ordered carpet for sheeba sunday (current carpet is TRASH), so i decided i should redo the nasty falling down headliner too. i think the people before me had kids, the back of the headliner was GROSS. and halfway falling down (i could barely see out my back window sheesh)... so i was a little embarrassed to show up next weekend like that... started this mod last night, and it's already back in :) check it ouuuuut. oh and sorry about the crappy cell phone pictures!

oh and in one of the pictures my speakers in the back look like eyes in the mirror... creepy.

one slight problem occurred during uninstallation that led to me having a new control to open and close the sunroof, but it works...

except this little guy's lonely.. poor thing. i'm gonna try to keep it company.. well, my cupholder is.

well I couldn't figure out how to get the cover out, and I never have it closed anyways so it's not a big deal. I have enough fabric to do the cover and the visors, but I kinda like the color contrast. and there is an old how to on here... I followed it :) haha

wanna do the one in my truck?

ha, it was really easy. way too easy. the longest part was waiting for the effing adhesive to dry. cake!

Look good, and don't be sad :D

i'm sad for my sunroof button. it's so ronery, and now i have to push the metal to open and close my sunroof. so maybe some of you can help me fix it next weekend haha. i tried to rig something up, but it didn't work :(

alright, so i got word today that my carpet is supposed to be delivered at some point this afternoon (much earlier than expected, stockinteriors.com was on it), so i started going at the carpet. it was quite fun actually. but it's all out! and i'm just awaiting the UPS man to bring me my new clean carpet :) but here's a picture of the destruction! and the crap in the background outside the door is all the stuff i had living in my car for the past few months haha.

http://i56.photobucket.com/albums/g173/aderz2616/photo5-2.jpg

and here's a picture of the nasty trashy carpet. you can see where power steering fluid spilled all over my back floorboard, as well as where i spilled coffee down between my seat and the door. and all the wear and tear that comes with not using floor mats. oops. USE FLOOR MATS PEOPLE.

99alerogirl
06-11-2009, 03:42 PM
yeah it's sick... and i've only had it for 2 years. i wonder what it's supposed to look like originally...

Actually, it looked pretty damn good when it was brand new. I'm the original owner. They took my '99 right of the truck and handed me the keys pretty much. I'm a long ways from those days though!

new carpet just got here! :D. i was expecting everything to be precut, but i've gotta cut out all the holes and stuff. after i vacuum out all the broken glass that was under my carpet from when the... ahem... very, nice, people.... busted out my window. i'm still bitter.

You should have bought some E-dead to put underneath there while you had the carpet up.

I see no reason you could not just press that switch back together I think I have done that with success on those cheap switches!

99alerogirl
06-11-2009, 09:29 PM
yeah I'm too broke for deadener, of I would have. and yeah I'm not sure what happened with my switch. it's annoying though. maybe some nice boy can figure it out for me next weekend :D

Caboose73

pictures of it installed?!?Mine looks nice,I took it black!
Did you take the original color?

99alerogirl
06-11-2009, 10:42 PM
not quite fully installed yet. it's all in, back seat and everything is in... all that's left is cutting the holes for the front seats and putting them and the center console back in, then you'll get pics! it has to happen tomorrow morning/afternoon, because i work at 3, so expect pictures before then!

99alerogirl
06-11-2009, 11:03 PM
yeah both the headliner and carpet are black... i'm thinking about getting the tan floor mats though, to keep the color contrast. not quite decided yet though... opinions?

There are two springs that are inside the sunroof switch, hope you didn't loose them. Mine came apart when I was putting my headliner back up and the switch came apart.
