hi guys i have a 2001 alero, recently took apart cluster gauge and needles to do some work, anyway when i put everything back on the rpm i believe is a little off. what is the max. rpm when idling suppose to be?

Uh, it varies, depending on auto vs. manual, LA1 vs. LD9 vs. L61.. temperature... just started or fully warmed up... etc.

I dont know what engine you have, but on my eco auto, at idle, the needle sits right at the line before the 1.

Fully warmed up should be around 900 or less, the 3rd line valley is talking about is 750, which is normal for the torquey eco but low for a 4 cyl motor.

i have an L61 auto tranny when i start it up and when its warmed up the rpm at idle stays about 800

my 3400 idles at 650
