I'm not sure how accurate this is because it hasn't been updated since 2002 but this website (http://www.tintdude.com/laws.html) has tinting laws for all the United States. :)

if you're in georgia, and have ohio plates, i wouldnt think the cops would mess with you about tint because they arent going to look up the ohio tint laws and ticket you for them.

In IL., I went to a place called Ziebart and got the darkest tint they had for my alero. Check them out if there are around your area, plus they provide a warranty on it also. So if it gets damaged or what have you, you can get it fixed at no charge!

35% is what your allowed...but dont go to the tint shop and get 35 get something a little bit higher b/c when i got pulled over he got out his little meter and it was like 25 or something cuz of the tint thats already in your windows

Illinois allows 0% tint on front side drivers windows unless your a undercover 5.0 (cop). But, you can tint the back and rear windows...I said hell with it and did all of them because it looks better to tint them all...I hate cops and their stupid laws about tinting especially when it's my vehicle and I'm not doing anything wrong.

In the Digest Of Ohio Motor Vehicle Laws (2004) it says Windshield-70%
Other Windows-50%, plus or minus three percent."Violation of the law is considered a minor misdemeanor, with fines up to $100."
