Hey my name's Scott.

I just bought a 2001 with the Quad4 motor, automatic with GLS options package. It's a friend's car, and since he's moving to Florida first of August, I got it for cheap... but have to wait until end of July to pick it up.

I've modded a couple other cars before, so I figure in the meantime, I may as well spend some time researching these cars a bit. I don't wanna go to heavy on the mods, but I do want to swap in a 5-speed, lower it, and maybe do a couple other performance-related modifications. Anyway, looking forward to chatting with you guys!

Welcome. And I dunno if you actually have the GLS package, I think with an S means that the car would have the 3.4 V6.

welcome. best of luck on the 5 speed swap. the odds are against you. probably 500-1 in vegas.

you have a Gl1.... GL2's come with the 3400, as well as the gls

Aren't the GL2's the model with the 5 speed trany??Anyways,welcome and good luck with the swap,have fun cause its a nice hobby!

A GL4 would have a twin-cam and leather if that's the case. 2001 only.

Yeah, GL2 was available with the 4-cyl 5-speed (for 2000-2002), or 6-cyl auto.

really? because on my title mine is listed as a gl2, its a 2000, and i have the 2.4 and auto tranny. as well as every option except sunroof and leather...i have no idea what my car is then...

Hey guys thanks for the welcome. I think you're right and it's not the GLS package. It does have every option except leather, so I suppose that would be the GL2. I'm not too worried about the swap... I have a donor Z24 for the parts I need... just need to hit up the wrecker's for the center console, or possibly suck it up and get it from the dealer... but I'm dutch so I am a cheap man.

I have just spent the last day reading into all the OSV kit shennanigans. If they ever get it figured out it'd be a cool thing to get into.

Where is ASS? And I definitely didn't specify, but I'm from St. Thomas, Canada... not St. Thomas in Hawaii I think it is? I can't remember, but it's what most people think when they see it (Not that I blame them, it's a pretty small city here)
