Hi Alero fans,

went to the Oldsmobile Homecomeing in Lansing, MI and spoked to the gentleman who owns this ALero coupe.....

Does any one have a fiberglass cowl hood like this one from Boat tec inc available for sale....{see photos below}

Does anyone know what other styles of cowl hoods a vendor has made for the 1999 to 2004 Alero's?

Anyone who owns this style hood, can you post what ya think of it in terms of quality, (how does it fit) and provision for the under hood lamp? Now i cant remember if my 02 Alero has a under hood light but thought I'd inquire anyways....

I'm sorry I forgot the persons name who owns this car, but he said it was from Boat Tec inc.

Looking for anyone wishing to sell a unused one i.e new old stock from boat tec.....

Thanks in adv.

Limited run, no one has an "unused" one. It was a single group buy and that was it. If you want one, you get it made custom.

Check out Aleromod Upgrades too.

Crazy taxi made those no longer does but extream dimesions makes one now has some other stupid things on the side that can easily be shaved off. Alot easies then making your own.

bdyman did a real bangup job on that OSV front.. can't wait to see it with the whole setup.

anyways, back on topic :p

PimpAlero's right.. the best way to get a cowl now, unless you get super lucky and find one for sale used.. would be to buy that ebay hood, cut off all that stupid crap that's on it, get a fiberglass cowl, and fiberglass the 2 together... a good amount of work to do, but would be easier than making a whole hood.

might be just as easy to make it out of sheet metal, so you dont have the glass on metal crack issues that could come up. it is a simple design to make in metal

You won' have the cracking issues if you buy that ebay fiberglass hood and mod it up ;)

EDIT: nevermind, it's duraflex crap, not FG. Eh, guess sheetmetal may be the answer then.

the fitment of the hood was great. just bolt on and go. the hood requires the prop rod setup. also there was only 1 version offered.

the best person to talk to would crazytaxi37 and PM or email him. he worked with them and took care of it all.
