View Full Version : Question for ASS attendees: spreading the faith

Been seeing a lot of new member registrations here lately and it's got me wondering...
ASS seems to have been very successful this year, especially with the sheer number of cars that showed. Were there any other non-Alermod Alero owners (or friends/family of owners) that showed up at any point during the weekend? And did ASS result in them becoming members here?
Would seem a big coincidence with the rash of new registrations if that weren't the case.

Wolf from Minnesota showed up with his Final 500 but he does not own a computer and I don't know if you would really want him on here, just ask Scot or MO.

There was that new guy Smurf... apparently he isannoying with like 3 votes on the poll. HAHAHAHAHAHA\I started the freaking poll you morons and I think I know that whoever voted for me did not attend ASS 09. I know this because Aunty patty is currently in second place for most annoying and the people at ass didn't vote for her. So there, HA. and Ha. hahahahaha.
Dont worry auntie patty, they are just mad that you didnt get them any coffee. I guess they did save $15.01 though. ROTF
If you feel bad or say sorry one more time for that I will get the sexual tiki impression to come haunt you. LOL

I wasn't the one who did this! just to make that clear. I was theone that pointed out that it sounded sexual though. THat shit was a funny ass night. I Learned a lot about Bdyman and STILL to this very day have as much respect and trust for him as the day I became an aleromod member. HE IS A GOD when it comes to ANY kind or work with the car we all drive. He will DEFINITELY be working on my parts. WHy would I pay anyone else?

some guy came by at both the alero show and homecoming, he's had his alero in his garage and was looking at getting it out soon. he was asking us a lot of questions and we told him about the site... he seemed really interested

I was staring at her boobs and tell her that Bdyman was going to work on my parts. LMAO She was so turned on at this point that she was sweating...Or maybe it was because we were freaking outside all day in an oven. LOL

Daytona,
Im assuming you are getting many new members with weird names and using hotmail and gmail domains?
I get the same thing on my forum. Multiples per day...
Most of them are spammers holding there place waiting to be activated/used.

I know about the spammers. It's my main job here to review all new registration attempts; I ban those guys' IP addresses and deny their registrations.
My original post here was about all of the other legit registrations that have been coming up. Figured there might be a connection between a bunch of them and ASS.

can you acctually tell who is a spammer?
[ion] C2
06-23-2009, 11:31 PM
If we had CAPTCHA in the registration we wouldn't need to have moderators filter through every single registration attempt, and it would automatically annihilate the spammers. The new version has worked very well on the forums I've operated.

Yep. Won't say here in case any would-be spammers are lurking, but there are quite a few red flags that come up when they try to register (call it my "Daytona Algorithm" :rolleyes2: ), plus I utilize some external resources.
My efforts won't necessarily stop asshats, street racer dinks, and douchebags from registering ;) , but the usual spammers & email harvesters - yes.

yeah, there definitely was an older guy who was very interested in registering. He was asking my a bunch of questions, i rolled up my window and showed him the "aleromod.com" decal. he wrote down the address and said he'd check it out.
so... that makes only 2.
and how can you say any guy was staring at adria's chest. it was only partly visible twice, once being when we all swam.

Yea, and kyle I believe said he was going to make a username for himself... Haven't seen him since we got back in town and I got him back to his house.. But he was all about it, and he and sarah had a great time they said. so that may be 1 more, possibly 2, but i don't think sarah will cause well she doesn't really do the whole car thing, just there to be there....

I know I'm one of the new members that jumped on the forums simply for Q&A and pointers (it started with WAI vs CAI, lol), so I don't count...but DAMN am I wanting to attend ASS next year. Does the location change every year or is it the same?
P.S. - $10 says I win most annoying next year because of my Alero. :D

he'll flame you so hard, he'll forget to register for a room!
but in all seriousness... i think we're(the members) the best form of advertising for ASS. As long as we represent the meet/ourselves well enough, we'll get more people showing up.

HAHAHAHA, And then at the cookout, he turns into the grocery ninja and starts chucking hotdog buns at the people that say they are coming and don't. LMAO
I got one person coming next year from florida and am in talks with another two from bama of going next year. I have already told Scott and Momma Mo that I will be there even if I don't have an alero. LOL
