first off... no offence aleroracing... i'm just playing around
anyways...
i've read lots on different intakes and such on our cars... and how cia is the best and stuff
well here's what i'm thinking
i have a stock intake box with a k&n air filter,
what i want to do is put some sort of pipe or air cather in the shape of the lower right hole in the bumper

and then pipe that air into the bottom of my air box... it would kinda be like cold air intake.
i dont want to buy a wai intake... or a cai right now... i've got the filter and its good. but i do alot of highway driving... so i figured ramming the air into the box like that might increase air flow (half ass ram air i suppose) i would but some sort of screen on it so bugs and such can't go in.

seems pretty pointless. my cai cost $30 shipped (1995 honda accord kit IIRC). do it right or don't do it at all.

Its a ecotec. And i have to order one off the internet... And i lack a credit card. Even with a wai... Wouldnt this help push cool air to the filter?

Well your car already has this "performance" mod done to it.
You want to run a pipe from the stock air box down into the fender well? Look at the small space between the bottom of the driver's side headlight and the bumper, see that black thing, that's the "CAI" you want :rolleyes2:
Buy the Honda one mentioned earier and be done with it. Remove the stock air box all together

if you want to do it cheep like that just replace the pipe from the engine to the air box to remove the restrictive stock pipe

I wouldn't do it myself, I almost drowned my eco a couple times even with the stock intake. Aleros sit low, and they're daily drivers. You're going to approach standing water in the road from time to time, and you never know how deep it is until its too late.

^ This is true....Especially with the dump of water you guys got in toon town not to long ago....I put CAI in my car(my brothers spare parts), went through a car was(yes with car running, yes I know Dumb:lol: ss) and well what do you know, car stalled, it restarted but the rpms were all over the place and the car didn't not want to go anywhere for 2 min, so yes do be careful with what you do to the alero.

I understand the fear of water with the CAI, but I have had mine for some time now and Ohio has been drenched from storms or snow runoff and I have not had a problem yet. Was a bit nervous with this last slew of storms though when the streets of Akron were flooded and the downhill side streets looked like waterfalls...
From what I have come to understand, a WAI can be worse than the stock and especially not as good as a CAI. Yes it pulls more air than stock, but it is hotter air which defeats the purpose of the whole thing. Jackal is right, 30 bucks on ebay and you are out. They usually send you instructions with the thing too lol. I used chromeintakes from ebay and have been pleased with mine...
Though it says my K&N filter needs replaced every 10k miles. What's up with that?

^^ Not replaced, just cleaned and re-oiled
WAI is fine on the street and CAI is great on the track.
I ran .5 seconds faster with a CAI over a WAI. Daytona can concur this statement
aem bypass, or a k&n filtersheild if you have a cone type filter on a cai. both fairly cheep solutions to a fairly simple problem.
