Was our car ever made with a stock shaved front bumper? The old lady down the street came home with an Alero one day, the light/ocean blue color, but i noticed its emblem was missing. Well my dog ran away last night down to the neighbors across from them, so at 1 a.m. i got a closer look and saw that the bumper looked as if it were manufactured that way, it was completely smooth, looking. I'd get a picture, but it would be hard to do that without looking like a creeper. But i don't know much about the final 500's or anything, but did they ever manufacture our car this way?

probably a cheapo aftermarket bumper, easier to make a mold without the indentation for a symbol....

ive seen one or two in my area with the emblem and indent missing. the paint on the bumper was also a shade or so off, and it wasnt fitted right, so im assuming it was aftermarket junk. i on the other hand filled mine in and repainted it, and it looks like nothing was even there.

Yeah, I plan on pulling off that Oldsmobile emblem and sticking it on the AAS kit when I get done painting it.

eventually i got a peice of paper and wrote down the year make and model and stuck it on the windshield like the other cars lol....
the funniest one was when the two guys walking around together thought they new everything and were arguing amoungst themselves as to what year mustang i had.. they agreed on 1998 lol

Excuse my French, but FU** mustangs...I see so many around here in West County and I don't like them at all. I hope to get to the point someday where I absolutely obliterate them.

I don't hate mustangs. I just hate that the mustang doesn't represent what it is supposed to represent well. Mustangs are given the image of a muscle car, while in reality, if you compare it to a real muscle car, mustangs suck.
A lot of dumb mustang drivers that don't know anything about cars, just take this image and think that owning a mustang will make them be up there with all the real muscle cars.
Also, to the OP, sorry for getting so off topic. This will be my last off topic post here.

i dunno... there were some mustangs i'd consider muscle cars... just like the old GTOs and stuff were meant to be family man cars.

weird. it could have been done by someone else who owned the car, i guess ill never know. whoever did it tho did a hell of a job it looked perfect. and it was on that goldish color, with the sun reflecting off it, and i saw no lines or anything that wuold have hinted there used to be a indent there.

bdyman also has no doors, his car is primered and he has 2 20LBS NOS tanks in the back.
To bad I can still sell his car for 10,000 dollars more than he wants. LOL

guys even the remanufactured bumper have the opening for the olds emblem, bumpers from keystone have it, is it possible that the bumper was shaved?? or maybe you didnt see things good enough??
i dunno, mine are shaved and custom made, i get asked all the time wut kind of car is it?? duhhhhhhh its a olds alero
not true old man..... when i got my car fixed the first time the front emblem was shaved. then i got in another accident and the bumper cover i got that time had the emblem in it. i liked it better shaved so i was pissed when i saw they gave me the one with it embedded into it. lol

Billy,
This just means that you have too many accidents. LOL
I have seen ONLY ONE alero with the shaved bumper (other than bdyman's) and that was in Huntsville, AL and the guy had 22's on it. I also believe it was lowered and he had the razzi kit on it.

Eeesh, I always got the Mustang confusion in high school. The back emblems are painted and matching the car though.

It turns out the owner before her wrecked the car, well more or less just cracked the front bumper, my parents said that they just threw a replacement on and sent her on her way. I have seen 3 like this now, so the statement that they are cheap-o replacements seems to prove valide here... :cool!:
