so i did it, let the flameing begin

couldent help myself, did the flip flop trunk mod. cut the trunk so it pivots on the back bolts, trimmed up the edges and put some black rubber trim on them. got some pins and clips for the front two when i want it to flip,but 99% of the time i will be using all 4 bolts. i understand this is a very controversial mod but i do like the look and it does turn a few heads when its up.
as for the problems with levelness and gaps, when its up its even-down the front tips do sit up, but the only time ill have it like that is when im "showen' out" so not a prob. just pop the other bolts in and everything goes back to stock. plus when the 2 bolts are out the springs extend the trunk all the way up automaticly when i hit my trunk button-pretty neat, i think.
morel of the story is im to broke for real mods so with to much time on my hands and no money in hand ill have to settle with what i can get. -deep breath ahh- ok let the flameing begin

I'm really new here, but I've read ALOT of old posts (the whole OSV group buy thread(s) are awesome), and from what I can tell, you gotta post up pics of mods real fast or people start sayin stuff like "Didn't happen!" and "Fake!" Not that yours is fake or anything, but folks are hungry for ideas and inspiration...'cause if "that guy" can do it, then they can do it too.

On the other hand...if I REALLY wanted to see it, I could just swing by Winona next time I go see my folks...I mean...Winona isn't THAT big, and I've never actually seen a modded Alero in person yet so there's some motivational desire going on there...who am I kidding...I'm a little :drunk: and a little :coolio: and it all landed in this post.

I don't understand why all the hatin on this type of mod. He did something different and is only visible with the trunk open. It's his car, let him do as he wants. Would you rather he painted it Lime Green metallic and sittin on 22's?

i like it, i also liked the idea from the other old thread of the wood floor'd trunk, but i would fiberglass a sub in the center too sticking out of the wheel well with 4 aero ports and a single nasty 15" like i had. i want to do some mods, one i need to do after winter is a new hood becouse the front edge of mine will be gone with thesalt around here. anyone know where i can pick up a carbonfiber hood like the one that was group ordered a long time ago?

its different.. but i've read on here (for years) that this type of mod doesn't allow the trunk to seal well.. and will leak in a short period of time.

if someone could solve that... i guess it would be unique enough to suggest others to do.
