You're better off with an engine bore out. When my engine starts having problems that's what I'm gonna do to rebuild it...that or find another one to do that to in order to rebuild it. :P

And welcome btw, lol.

Many pics? Click on the paperclip at the top of the response box.

3800 s/c swap?

Good idea, bad idea. Yeah it can be done, but a well modded 3400 will turn the same results if not slightly better. I am all for the 4T65 tranny swap thou.

The 4t65e is a troubled slushbox and a total piece of shit, GM worked out some of the bugs after 2001 in the valve body and the 3.29 FDR HD trans was a good start if you can find them (look in Grand prixs and Regals-the Intrigues never got the HD units) but, TCC problems, weak sun gear out put shaft carriers and all knds of other bullshit tells me if you are going through the trouble to remove the 4t45e why not put in a 4t80e, that my friends is a good transmission. Now the dilema would be how to fit the damned thing in the cradle. Oh almost forgot in front of the 4t80e should be a L47 or a 4.6 N*
