well if you check on here before you go you will get this.....i have the 40 and it can be done........i dont have any pictures but i watched him do the whole thing.....the muffler was shortened almost at each end.......they added an extra brace for support ( i didnt want it wobbling around)........trust me it fits, dont let them tell you otherwise....what kinda tip do u have?? and i didnt put a heatshield on it, theres enough room all the way around it, i dont think it needs it.......let me know how it goes......

I can take a pic tommarrow, but yeah the pipe coming out of both ends of mine was cut off, fits great, try another shop, if they are a descent shop they can do it.

im runnin the 40.......
likes - rumble at idle is decent, not too loud. when you let off the gas in a certain gear 1,2,3 the backpressure sound sounds awesome and mean
dislikes - I want it to sound a little throatier such as slp or the 80 series

I think mine sounds better than the slp or the 80, I've been asked a few times if my cars runnin an 8cyl.

ya I have the 80 series dual out installed w/ DTM 3.5" tips and a magnaflow highflow 2.5" cat on a 3.4L (with the ends kicked up sorry dont have pics right now) and hell yeah the FLOWMASTER mufflers sound amazing! My friend works for GM dealer (14yrs mechanic) when i pulled up to his house he was in his backyard, the first thing he said to me was "wow man that sounds like a small block Chevy" :D . also get looks from ppl at stop lights and other stock alero owners
