Seem to only be happening when the car's hot.

WOT, hard launchs, and normal cruising is OK.

Car came out of the car wash today and I put it in gear after it's been sitting with the engine running while the guys were drying it off. I put it in gear and it didn't catch right away. I let it catch and drove away. Did it in the same exact spot last time I got it washed

Later I went to my union meeting and they were having a car show afterwards. I was trying to get the car in the lot (it was blocked) so I parked elsewhere and turned it off. I get out and start walking towards the hall and the "blocker" car is being moved. So I go back, start the car and back out. Put it in drive and it doesn't catch at all, but I hit the gas and it moves very slowly (I didn't hit the gas hard) it was slipping all the way around the corner and by the time I pull into the lot, it catches, no clunk thou.

Not the first time it's happened, but it hasn't happened in a while. Any thoughts?

The car wash coincidence is weird, makes me wonder if a sensor or connection is getting wet. I'd scan the computer for codes, transmission codes can be present without triggering any warning lights or check engine light. Also check your trans fluid level, that would be the first thing.

Your intake is not getting wet from the car wash, is it? A wet MAF sensor could also cause what you are experiencing.

any lights?? like a trac?? imo could be low on fluid but with out a dip stick it hard to tell...tranny fluid to hot to cool the first gear clutches and bands.

Hmmmmmmm Will and Matt you guys make good points.

My hood never really did seal too well around the filter area, and I'll check the connections too. Maybe the very small bare wires from the B&M ShiftPlus I had in the car a very long time ago. I put electrical tape over it, but It may be falling off or gone.

A57, I hope not.

I had the fliud checked last time this happened and it was full. After my union meeting, it didn't do this. I trying to think about the rain thing now :ninja:
