i bought a led gauge cluster and there is 2 wires and a dial on a black box where do i wire it in ?? plse help thanks

You bought an overlay or an entire cluster? Pictures might help, too.

i got it from _01alero_ i got it hoked up but sum of the wires are ripped i have to talk to him i think he did it accidently when packing it up

Red wire goes to main power from ur dimmer switch, black wire goes to ANY solid ground point.

My question.... why do people buy things before knowing how they work? (This isn't just u motorcity, its everyone who buys these kits)

and Motorcity ditch the switch and tap into grey wire in the gauge harness

well i didnt know it would need a separate power source.. i can do it i jus was unaware of it... but the wires on it are ripped off so i have to c what i can do

those wires on the bottom of the cluster are all cut up and stripped its jus a mess:[

ok cut off th dimmer and tap the red wire into the grey wire on the harness that plugs into the top of the cluster n the black is ground

Must have happened in the shipping motorcity... Really sorry about that... Sending money back to you...
As far as how they were hooked up, it was exactly as cherrington says, the red wire was to a fuse in the glove box and the black wire was grounded... Real basic install, but apparently those tiny copper wires came off. They were intact when I took it out of the car, but like I said, since you had this problem I'll send you money back...
Sorry it happened, hopefully they will work out for you...
