hey. my 04 has no anti lock brakes. what all would it take to put anti locks on it? is it unreasonable? i figured it was more of an electronic thing? so would i get the computer out of one that has it and put it in my car? how hard would it be? how much? lol sorry for all the q's but im pretty interested in antilocks if its not too hard/expensive.

Unfortunately it would require a lot of time and effort... all 4 wheel hubs, EBCM, ABS pump, wiring, re-routing brake lines, etc..

I just replaced my front hubs on my 2003 without ABS and both the orig and replacement has the speed sensor in it, just no wiring harness in the car to hook it to. My orig had an empty clip to attach to the sensor to prevent water from getting into it. The guy at the parts counter said they all have the speed sensor.

I guess you learn something new every day.. I never had do do anything with a non-ABS Alero, I just figured it wasn't even there.

wow, I thought the alero had ABS standard not as an option. In fact i thought ABS was standard on all cars after a certain year???

ABS and rear disc brakes were not standard in 2003 and 2004.

thats odd that they would go non-ABS, I guess thats why I saw a conversion kit from drum to disk. (I thought to myself, why would you need to if they are already disk) You do learn something new every day, lol
