Since I just jumped right in and started asking questions (thanks for the good advice so far), figured I'd introduce myself. My name is Chris, from Durham, NC. The Alero in question actually belongs to my girlfriend but I'm trying to help her keep it running and in good health, and I've been driving it lately since I don't want her in something that's not running right.
It's a 2000 2.4/auto sedan with 155800 miles on it right now; kind of rough shape but it's still running. Has a lot of the classic problems--clearcoat peeling quite badly on the hood, upper fenders and bumpers, dash pad is rolled up, only one of the power windows works correctly, blower motor only works on high, turn signals click like mad even when not turning--but fundamentally it's solid and we're trying to keep it on the road as long as we can, because it's paid off. :cool!: And it drives pretty good for a 4 cyl, when it's running right that is...

As to my cars, I (usually) drive a 2003 Mercury Marauder. I also own a 1979 Chevy Malibu, though that one hasn't driven anywhere in a very long time...
