Well, i have officially put both of my old-school subwoofers back into my old sealed box. Well, using the new amp, putting about 500wrms to them a piece, i'm quite a bit more satisfied! I finally got my first windshield flex! My wipers finally rattle on my windshield! ;) I'm just excited because i've been trying to do that since i've gotten the Alero. Here's a crappy cell phone video i just took earlier today, you can kind of see the parking pass jumping. 2.) 15" Petra Prowler SVC 4-Ohms, Sealed Box, 500 to 550wrms a piece. :)

looks impressive, but even my subs can make things shake on my rear view mirrors. still impressive though.

When i get a decent camera, i'll show you some change jumping, and my remote bouncing on my center console. :) I hit 141.5 dbs with 1/5th the power on each sub, cell phone camera = no justice.

I have 12s that hit about that or 143, and im pushing a total of 900 watts 300 to each 12, my change jumps and my rearview busted off the window and had to reglue the metal piece. quarter panels flex about .5 inchs, and you would think I have shiatsu massagers in the seats. lol.

Haha nice! Yeah i saw your subs come up in a thread a little while ago... Not gonna lie, i like the setup! I'm probably putting 500 watts a piece to these, but then again, they were manufactured back in 1994, discontinued, and the magnet on them are smaller than the magnet that was on my little hifonics 10", about an inch tall, 5 in diameter... They still impress me though.. especially with probably my 1/2" excursion...

Your box is actually tuned pretty durn low for spl. Typically at 29 Hz an earthquake occurs  , but if you were to slap that baby in a box tuned in the upper 30's/low 40's i garuntee you'd break the 140 mark. :) You have the equipment!

^^ I hear ya on that, my subs were discontinued in 03, luckly they last a good bit if you buy them from the right person. I bought a stockpile of them, since both my cars are running them.
But you seem just like me, they are old, but you like um nonetheless. all good

it recommends on the website 2.5cubic ft max. i way overdid that. ive always wanted to built my own box. i have the tools! (my buddy whos the maintenance guy at the local apartments is a carpender!) what kind of wood do you need?

my box for my subs is going to take up the whole trunk and one side of the back seat.

Everyone recommends 3/4 mdf, as well as myself. But a lot of the time for bigger box builds, some people move up to 1" or double-stack it. IMO, if you take the time to assemble the box correctly; ie.seal all of the edges/corners, get an adequate amount of glue between the joints, use the right screws/nails, 3/4 would be sufficient enough for your bl. Possibly just double-stack the mounting baffle where you place your sub. From what i have heard in person and have read online, tuning to around 36 Hz seems to be a favorite to some people. It sounds good with music, as seems to get good results in SPL with the right setup. That's my 2cents... :)

well i am going to have 2 12 inch RE audio mt or mx series so I am going to need a big box and ya I was thinking between 3/4 and 1 1/4. well each subs is 1500 watts rms. i am going to make a ported box.

You're actually going to run it into your back seats though? It would be a tight squeeze, but i'm sure you could fit a box for the 12's a battery, an amplifier or two, and everything else all into your trunk if you needed to. The mx's only ask for 4.0^3 ft. total for the two. ;)

the sub does (did) sound re-donk-u-lously sexy at the low hertz. it felt more like wind moving through your body.. bones and all. sadly tho, on the higher frequencies it doesnt sound anywhere as good. (anything above 37 or so hz) the spider ripped and im going to need a recone eventually. hopefully they respond for my RMA request... emailed them 9 days ago and still nothing. when i recone i am for SURE building a proper box for it. but until then im beating the piss out of it :coolio:

well i am going to put a xbox and a 20 inch monitor in there to. the amp tray is going to take up part of the back seat.but i might be able to fit all of the stuff in the trunk. I have to get the money first . all most have enough. The x box and monitor are last the subs and amps are first.
