View Full Version : Question About Drop-in K&n
3.4 Euro Alero

Has anyone else with the 3.4 had problems with the drop in K&N? My last one had an issue called "fish bait" while at highway speeds. For those of you who are not aware of the term, the car has a split second hesitation much like the feeling of getting a nibble while fishing. The dealership advised me of Gm Bulletin concerning the use of "oiled aftermarket filters", whereas any excess oil is screwing up the maf sensor. I had only had it in my car for 7 weeks when I had to take it out, and it had only been factory oiled. It is sitting here under my desk at work since I am afraid to put it in the new one. If anyone has any knowledge, please advise. Thanks!
ive had mine for well over a year, not 1 problem.

Never had a problem with any of mine
Used a drop in for about a year, and cones for 3.
Did you install the gromet around the stock air box that came with the drop in?

Yep, I did install the gasket that came with it. I am trying to look up the bulletin #, but the dealership killed my file when I traded the last one in. I believe my wife scanned all our requisitions, I'll just have to look through them.

I found the bulletin #. It is 04-07-30-013, and is not specifically for Aleros. Here (http://invision.aleromod.com/index.php?showtopic=5108)
