led floor lamps? you mean general floor lighting? the easiest way is to mount the leds right into the plastic covers above the foot area. (there are 2 per side)

OR...

www.oznium.com has flat ribbon leds, that you could mount under there.

Um I hope that those aren't the rims that you ordered...they are 6 lug in the picture and aleros are 5 lug...

I want to see a VIP Alero really bad. Now that'd be sport lux.

Poke out the bead and stretch the tires, paint it black, slap on an OSV or AED kit and bag it. Mmmm.

Atmosphere
11-21-2009, 05:35 PM
^ Just curious, why would you want to stretch the tire instead of just getting a wider, lower profile tire?

clutch1
11-22-2009, 03:12 AM
Gives an angled sidewall, to clear the fenders and still allow it to poke out the side slightly.

I know the aleros 5 lug and the set I orderd is just that, why it 6 in the pic is beyound me...

Clutch, since the alero isnt he traditional platfrm it couldnt be vip, it would be vip inspired and thats the look im going for without the insane stretch . I do have a stash for the cash some vip parts from JP............

the point of the tire stretch is to get the lip of the rim right on the fender lie........not my cup of tea, but a must for the true vip style.

Where did you get that shift knob from? I like it, especially with the boot.

Malibu369258
11-23-2009, 09:52 PM
That's an Ichibahn shift knob, I got the exact same one from ebay $7 shipped. I don't really like how it looks in my malibu, so I went back to my stock one.

if you wanna go real low airbags are the way to go. Taking coils out of any springs is just dumb and dangerous.

11-24-2009, 01:31 AM
airbag looks bad. and that stretched tire looks retarded. what are people doing to cars these days? it's almost rude to the cars....
i like the rendering for sure. if you want the dash to look nice, do the whole thing. not just the airbag in the middle of it. it just looks out of place. i still like staying with the idea, "must appear stock"
that's just my style though. good luck with the mods

Valley olds

Nice way to waste all your money on those rims. I can just see them getting all damaged when you take a hard corner.

not a bad start. the suede looks nice. Vents looks tasteful.

I'm still not a fan of the shiftboots. Seems a bunch of people have done it, and it always seems too narrow to be a good "boot". Hmm... not quite sure how to get around that through.

02-23-2010, 03:44 PM
i like our seats, funny right....

Im trying to figure out how to put the drive side lumbar and power controls to the passenger seat. I have a power driver seat with all the controls and track just havent looked at swapping it....

pimpalero2003
02-23-2010, 04:40 PM
Should be able to just throw it in. When people install the racing styl seats they have used the pass track on driver side, so should work opposite. Then just tap into the wires under drivers seat

JD1
02-24-2010, 07:27 AM
yea, Im trying to work the problem with adding the lumbar adjustment to a seat that doesnt have (no pas lumbar or electric seat), as well as adding the switch for the seat adjustment, without risking damaging the seat in the process.

I could skip the lumbar and place the seat on the track and add the switch to the dor panel next to the window and lock switch,,,,,,,,,

Thanks bro. just finished up the fenders tonight,,,,pics in the am...Im looking for mods for the exterior, working on some ideas for a kit....vip style

No the cops here are ok with the plate, but they can be serious dicks here for other things

I love the suede. Looks nice as eff. I don't like the color choice from the pics but it probably looks a lot better in person.

So after much thought, searching and discussion with the body man here she is, the kit that went on order a min before I typed this to be fitted to the alero....I dont want to here any bs about what it cost to fit it etc. I know what it will cost, its been adressed. I know the work and time it will be there, thats been adressed etc.... So with out further ado

http://www.extremedimensions.com/11820.html

AMG Style...

Before the point is question here is why, I love the alero, i want somthing that people scartch there heads at, and gives that luxury feel with the agressive yet classy exterior........

Also a color change is in the works when the kit is all set and fitted perfectly.........

pimpalero2003
03-26-2010, 01:38 PM
Carbon fiber! Do you really know the cost!! Shit isn't cheap especialy if you want the 2x2 twill look you will have to fit it and then rewrap the entire thing. Then resin out the ass that stuff isn't cheap either. If just painting it'd b fine. I know Len "got rid of the rip offs" but get ahold of chaser aerodynamics pretty sure they wouldn't just throw kits away! I'd call though. They had AED style kit in glass or carbon for cheap.

JD1
03-26-2010, 01:47 PM
i know what it cost..........like I said its all been adressed.

After a little more reaserch into this kit, I cancelled it. I was able to find nothing but bad about it.....Should have looked into the reviws etc before....Just got a little ahead of myself.

So back to the search for this kit from a diffrent company. From Benz itself is astronomical....

Heading to the salvage yard today to find somthing for the hoe from another car.......

Plz don't tell me that there just dbl sided tape vents. And should of got the ones that have the LEDs in tem for turn signals. If your going to get a Benz kit hack it up and make it fit yours. I recomend just buying a cheap one from eBay. Yes they'll fit like total shit for the car there ment for but you'll be cutting it up and mounting to stock bumpers and glassing togther anyways good way to save some serious $$. Or go at making you own lip kit or something. Either way if you goto fiberglassforums.com there's some mad mad talented people there, they have made kits lips wings all kinds of stuff.

Sorry to be harsh, but I think this thread needs some reality.

You cannot make an Alero into something it's not.

You can make a nice Alero. Rather than worry about M5 fender vents and Buick side moldings, which make the car arguably worse, you could invest in things that make the car undeniably better. Restore the car to near-factory condition. Consider mods such as tasteful rims, slight drop, and cleared corners.

domscox

I am big on clean lines. When I look at an Alero thats what I want to see. I like the shaved look and giving the car a bit more class. Lets be honest. If you want something rediculous buy a caddy. I do like the look of the OSV kit but would need some more reviews from you guys before I look into a purchase.

Aleros arent race cars, so whay are people building motors, putting turbos etc????? I thin its called building the car to how i want it to be. Im definitly sure it has a drop, clear corners already.......

As far as the M5 fenders making it worse, thats what you think about it ot me so i guess i glad its my car. The buick moldings were tossed out, just didnt like how they looked.

So heres a dose of reality..thank you for your input, but i will keep on my path of making it how i would like to....

i think that m5 vent would be pretty slick on a black alero. or white- only problem is it looks like your car has a 10 dollar plastic stick on vent. only because aleros dont come with/need a vent there unless u have some serious shit under the hood

JD1

So i figured Id wait to post the pics before I comment on the vents...Dont think they look like 10 doller vents anymore...Had the plans to have them painted after they were fitted.

why all the harshness, yes it's great you are being different, but you post stuff and expect everybody just to post how great your mods are? No need to start a flame war by calling people out by saying they can't comment on your alero because they haven't modded theirs...
