Shifter broke

The button on the auto tranny floor shifter popped out of the handle. What normally holds it in?

im not sure exactly how its held in, but theres a good chance it broke off inside. 2 of mine did that. take a look and see if it looks like anything is broken on the part that wud have been in the shifter. i may have an old one that still works hanging around if you do need one.

I took a better look at it today. There is a fresh break in some epoxy glue on the inner end of the button, looks like the PO had this problem before. I'll probably just re-glue it tomorrow, thanks for the offer tho.:coolio:

if not i have a stock knob in my garage that looks brand new that i wouldnt mind getting rid of. its dark grey.

or you could replace it with any other gm shifter that would fit. i grabbed one off of a late 90s regal or grand prix. its got the shuft knob in the front so its a lot less likely to break.
