View Full Version : Motor Mounts - Hydraulic?

I am going to be replacing my mounts soon, as I feel some light vibration when idling and slowing down off the freeway (not braking). I was looking around at prices and noticed some sites say the front mount by the overflow is hydraulic. All the prices seem similar, so I'm guessing they all are hydraulic right?

And are any mounts on the V6 more prone to go than others? I did a search and didnt find much, tho I thought I saw two different threads about people saying the overflow one snapped in half at the bolts. ouch. What causes that? Cheap mounts? Just the design and as they age?

Also, does anybody reccomend any certain company for stock replacement mounts?

Thanks!

Lol just go to AutoZone and get some mounts.

If you don't like vibration you want some weak ones... If you want more torque to reach the wheels and a better response you want to fill the mounts with urethane or get aftermarket stiffer mounts. With stronger mounts and better performance comes felt vibration.

I work at checker oreilly auto, so I will get them there, 20% off woot. Though I found the same brand and number online for 35 shipped. or 51 with my discount at work. But I think its worth it to just get them at work so -when- they break again, I can just go in and get a new one and not have to hassle with shipping the old ones back and what not.

I like the quiet soft drive I have in my alero. And since its my Daily driver I want it to stay that way. So all stock parts for me, for the time being.

As far Ive seen is the passenger mount, and the lower tranny mount has gone out first...
