i have a viper 791xv ive had it for 4/5 yrs, without issue. yesterday i had to move some gauges and extend some wiring. this morning i tried to remote start, engine started and died immediately each time i tried. so i pulled everything apart and checked all wiring and connections all good. but now the starter wont engage at all, accessories come on, fuel pump comes on, but no crank. everything works fine with the key, just not the remote start, when i check power to the wiring its all there even the starter trigger wire at the ign switch is lighting up. doe anybody have any knowledge on this to point me in a direction?

Tach signal, 95% sure. Make sure the remote start module is still getting a tach signal or it will do exactly like you said, start and die right away. if not that and all other wiring looks good, the module itself might be going/gone bad. thats 4% prob so leave 1% for me being wrong :p. both these problems have happend to me with my astrostart, but astro have lifetime warranty from the dealer that installed it, so i just had the dealer i work at say they installed it and got a new module for free.

ok the relearn yes, but did it see a signal during that relearn? i'm gonna guess yes and move on from that. So if it is like you said that it sees the signal and ALL wiring and connections/splices are good, that really only leaves the module of hood pin. Did you make sure the hood pin is functioning properly?
oh and the on/off switch if it is wired into your system. when they get bumped to off everything will turn on just not crank.

i thought about the on/off switch but i cannot find it? and i may just disconnect the hood pin tomorrow.

if it has an on/off switch installed it would more than likely be mounted under the dash or tied up in a wire harness around the module. Not all system require the switch tho, so yours might not even have one. disconnecting the hood pin would be a good thing to try. just make sure to tape the end of the plug you take off so it doesn't ground on anything, which would make the system think the hood is still open. actually if would be a good idea to inspect that whole wire to make sure it isn't wore thru somewhere and grounding out.
