Just getting another opinion(s)...

I redid my LIMG last year. Its had a slow weep from under the TB since. I know for a fact, that i didn't use the new torque specs for the LIM bolts. (at the time, i didn't know they existed.) If i'm redoing my o-rings soon.. can i just tighten the 4 outer bolts down to the new torque specs w/o harming anything?

Personally, I figure it would just press against the gasget more, and prevent that slow weep... but I asked Nate, and he said it'll "shred the gasket" which doesn't make sense to me. Its not like they even contact the gasket.

Anyone else have any input on this?

What do you have to lose?

The main question is.. will it destroy the gasket, and force me to redo the whole project, at a much sooner date...

Pull the bolts out one at a time, add thread locker, and use the correct torque procedure. Sounds like you already have a leak though.

Actually, you should probably drain the coolant, loosen the bolts, then pull them one at a time. You don't want to do it 1 at a time with the rest tight, as that will defeat the purpose.

but... w/o the proper torque procedure cause it to leak a little... where tightening it back down would fix?

why would that ruin the gasket or allow it to continue to leak?
