My engine needs alot of work! Can get engine for 100 and tranny for 50. What all do I need other then that just PCM? And what engine is better quad or Eco and better mpg. Also any real diffucult task to do it? Searched and couldn't find anything.

newb. :p
Wiring harness and such. Exhaust manifold and any accessories on the engine. You'll find out what you need when you're in the middle of the swap, but it should just be minor things.

Figured manifolds alternator and such do they have different sensors then the v6? Couldn't find any 3400s why I'm asking about swapping.

alternator could work from the v6 one to a 2.4l it just has an extra rib though. i did it temporary until I was able to afford a newer better one.

Evansville and engine no accessories for 100 and tranny 70 not pulled..
Did you do a swap like this? All I could find was doing 3.8 and just replacing engines

ecotec is the only way to go but since you swapping find a 2.4 ecotec

The swap isn't worth the time and headache.
Coolers, PCM, BCM, and lots more.
Plus you need a Tech2 to reprogram the BCM so the airbags work.
I swapped from a 2.4 Quad 4 to a 2.2 Ecotec... cost me less than 800, but tons of work and frustrations, plus I got all the parts for really good deals.

Dont care about bags 800 on other hand yikes. My motor needs headgaket so other gaskets replaced and easier plugs wires and belt. And 170 without accesories is cheaper then gaskets. And better Mpg

Coolers and bcm though can get from same yard. But still might cost to much place is called liberty pull apart in Evansville if anyone wants to check there prices or give me a close to be list of parts. There is a cheaper yard just no online price list

Here's what I went through in doing the 2.4 to 2.2 Eco swap:

Just make sure you know what you are getting into.... :)
It is doable, but it is quite a bit of work.

Searched thread titles! Only came up with 3.8 swaps.
Might just be easier to swap head gasket but don't know how bad engine is from it prolly driven 10k on it. What all vehicals have the 3400 that work in an 03? Would the vans work?

it will pull up everything relevant to your application and will only list motors that will work..
