Well, the Alero (3400 V6) threw a "P0171" Engine code. If I remember right, it is "bank 1 running lean". Well, I went under the hood to check it out, and guess what I discovered?
Now, if anyone hasn't figured it out, I just want to see who will be the first to guess the correct problem I had.

when mine did that... the MAF went bad. Replaced it and it stopped.
so... i'm gonna go with unplugged maf OR upstream O2 wires got cut somehow.

I guess "vacuum leak" was the closest. What was wrong, was the hose on the PCV valve popped off. A while ago I had troubles because the PCV elbow was cracked, and leaking. I got a universal one, and it worked good, untill a while ago. Seems the elbow was made of a silicone rubber, and when it got warm, softened up enough to pop off of the PCV valve. So, I just got a clamp, and now it don't pop off of the PCV valve. (Fits snug on the line running towards the windshield thank goodness.)

How are you right, it had nothing to do with the MAF, OR the O2 sensor??????
