I am about to purchase HIDs (hi, lo and fog) for my Alero and would like to know if 55w HIDs are to hot for our headlight and fog light assemblies. Personally I believe that the headlight assemblies will be fine, however I am concerned about the fog light assembly being too small to handle the heat output from the 55w HID system.
Thoughts?
Sorry if this is any kind of a re-post.

I dont have fogs... but i am pretty sure they are like 35 or 37 watts for the 894 bulbs.
They company i get my hids from recommends you only use 35w for fogs because of the heat in the small housing.

55 for headlights is fine, stock is 55.
Too much for fogs, Fogs are only 37.5

The kits I carry are 35W kits.
Im sure I could get the price lower if your buying 3 at once.

If you're still doing it in a couple weeks, I'm thinking about getting a set next paycheck, Ryan. Any reviews on the ones you're selling yet?

I got a few sets out there.
Papasmurf is the first name that comes to mind.
I think 01alero bought a set for a vehicle other than Alero.
I sold a set to a Canadian also.

I mainly just want to know how driving visibility is with them. I don't have any experience with 35w lights

The 35w HID is your standard HID light similar to what comes on any car from the factory. The 55w ones are REALLY bright.

Does that include your fog lights? If so, no issues with over heating?

Is there really a noticeable difference between 35w and 55w kits

yes there is. brighter and the high wattage kills the color some, so i have read and heard.
