I see in my local want ads that someone has five 215/70R15 tires for sale for $5 each. Will these fit on my stock 15" steel wheels - I have a 2000 Alero GL 4dr. I Thanks!

both sets of tires are bigger than stock. the 215/70r15 are pretty big, they fit on the rims, but might not on the car.

you can use tire calculators like this one to check out sizes

http://www.1010tires.com/TireSizeCalculator.asp?action=submit

just input the stock tire size, and the size(s) that you want to compare and it'll tell you if it's close or not.

stock 15" size is P215/60R15

Thank you! I wonder if the aspect ratio of 65 would be too big. Ill try that site.

%edit% Just tried, looks like over 3% is bad on the brakes, the 65s are 3.27% oversized. Looks like Im just gonna hafta find the exact size.

My Alero is running 205/65/15 on the stock wheels, only because the previous owner was too cheap. So my speedo is off a little over 1%

Cool. Do they rub or any other problems?

That's actually the stock size starting sometime during production in '03

why not

It's a even skinnier tire than the 215, plus its a cheap ass brand, Prime Well or something like that. Follows every groove in the road...
