View Full Version : Tinted headlights and tails
Well the were supposed to lightly tinted like my tails. Of course the guy who did my tails had to leave early so another painter got my heads.
There was a slight difference of opinion in what the word "tint" means betweenthe painters. I'm just really glad I have HID's now...

re rikey.... nice job...how's the light output on the headlights
Well, considering I have HID's it's crap, haha. Light output seems the same as factory.

That sucks. A very light smoke looks good on headlights. That.... not at all. Headlights are meant to be transparent.

While we're on the subject, anyone have a favorite brand for smoking heads?

Did the second guy not see the tails, to use as a reference? I wouldn't even have left the shop with those tinted like that, if that's not what I wanted...
Tails do look good, along with the rest of the car.
If you don't mind me asking, how much did they charge for both heads and tails?

Tinted heads seem kinda pointless to me, u shoulda just got covers, that's easily removeable if let's say a cop decideds to break ur balls over it. Did they do the paint/reducer mix or is it actual sheet tint

Tint like that is pretty bad, but a light smoke looks nice if accented well imo
Its paint. Base black and clear with two coats of clear on top. I paid nothing for it which is why I'm not too upset. I work at the dealership, but the manager said hed charge $60 a set for customers.
I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet. A cop could be a dick about it, but lighting is ok with the HIDs, and when I spray the car black it might took pretty sick with the blacked out lights. Plus the guy was doing me a favor so I can't bust his balls too much.

Your headlights look EXACTLY like mine, Yet I have the afore mentioned headlight covers. During the day they will appear smoked, and the night I take them off and show off the HID along with the secret weapon(s). LMAO
