so ive tried ceramic and i dont really care for them. my main concern is stopping power i want the best material to stop. second i want is quite. if i want both of those whats the best material semi metallic? ceramic seemed to decrease my stopping power and noise but id rather gain a little noise and stop better. so a good set of pads to reccomend appretiated :)

Semi metalic ones SUCK!!

Major brake dust!

You could go higher than ceramic, but then you are getting stopping power over life of the pad

well, sometimes it's not only the material but the brand as well. I used to run Ferodo race pads on SCCA with my daily driver. Very good stopping power, very quiet. Don't think they offer for Alero though. If I'm not mistaken, their more common street cousin is Hawk?

Hawk is pretty good, so is Bendix.

I use a brake pad on Summit's web site. It's a black box with purple writing, didn't buy it this past time and I regret it :(

bendix didn't last a year on my car. the pads crumbled and the rotors pitted to hell. :glare:

good stopping power, low dust, and low noise. Pick 2. (unless you want to get REALLY expensive ones.)
