Hi my name is curtis I recently purchased a 2001 olds alero its maroon, and blew up the day after I bought it. Put a motor in it ( from a sunfire ) and so far its been running good but still has a very weird shifting problem when its to the floor.
Looking forward to getting to know everyone a bit more around here and looking forward to modding my alero, Ive always liked them!

if its maroon its redfire metallic which isn't rare at all. Sucks about the motor, i have no clue about the problem lol, but welcome to the site anyway

Its a running thing with new members to yell "CLEAR YOUR CORNERS!"

this means to remove the orange reflector that is in the corner of your headlight. many people do this because they feel it gives a cleaner look

To clear up the color question, if it looks like a metallic brown then it's Auburn Mist Metallic. If it looks maroon, then it's Redfire Metallic, or something like that.

Thanks guys. Brought it to the shop today to have the transmission problem looked at, and they didnt know so they refered me to a different transmission guy, have an appointment to bring it there next tuesday, hope its nothing major.

started at 4, just sealed the first one up. The silicone that is on there is HORRIBLE to take off! Its going to look sweet though.

I think it looks decent on the darker colored cars, but it adds contrast on our silver cars. :coolio:

Part of it is im really excited to start modding it and this is a very cheap mod, just had to buy silicone lol. And all this one really takes is time which is fine with me :D
