Okay, here is what is going on. The DRL's work like they should during the day, in that they come on on my high beams (I have a 1999 Alero), but at night instead of the full low beams coming on AND the dashlights, it remains at the DRL stage, with only the DRLs, and no dash lights. I can turn on my headlights and dash lights if I use the switch, but I have no auotomatic night time lights anymore. Any idea what is wrong? It just started out of the blue. I changed the DRL relay under the hood, but still the same thing going on.
Any and all help will be appreciatted.

Auto Hdlp Ctrl Relay? Or maybe Ambient Light Sensor?

Would this also cause the doors not to lock when I drive away? I'll check out all the fuses tomorrow. Thanks for the tips peeps.

^read your owners manual on that one. it tells you how to program/unprogram the autolocks.

Check your antifreeze......Since everyone is throwing different opinions out there.
I believe it will be the fuse nate referred too.

But why would they loose programming just out of the blue?? I'll check my manual anyway. Good thing I grabbed one off of Ebay right after I bought my car. (Bought it in 2006)

Check Your Emergency Brake.
Never really use it, and I also doubt that that is it, because at night time, as soon as I put it into gear, the DRL's go off (as they would normally), but the auto lights don't come on. Guess I'll have to check all the fuses.

Never thought of that. I'll check it in the morning. Might as well check tire pressure and headlight fluid levels as well?   :yahoo:
By the way people, I honestly DO appreciatte the help I am getting! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

If the DRLs go on and off with the darkness then it sounds like the ambient light sensor is probably OK. You can check the auto hdlp ctrl relay (20) by swapping it with either the auto prk lmp ctrl relay (19) or the horn relay (21).
Do the parking lights come on automatically when the DRLs go off?
