This isn't so much as an introduction (I did that in the showcase forum, go see why) as it is a couple of questions.

They're pretty simple questions, but I haven't been able to figure em out.

1) For those of you with subs / amps in your car, what do you attach the ground wire to? I've been looking for a good ground, but nothing in my trunk seems to work very well.

2) My back speakers fade in and out. I think it's just some messed up wiring, but I'm kindof led to believe it is more than that, since periodically I have to push the 'emergency light' button to get my blinkers to work, sometimes the wipers are unresponsive, my back window rolls up but not down, etc. I guess that really wasn't a question...more of an exposition. Anyway has anyone had problems with your rear speakers?

EDIT: Sorry, I just realized I posted this in the wrong section, forgive my noob-itude

as far as the ground pull up the carpet, sand up some the paint on the metal and that makes for a good ground.........

as far as having to push you emergency button for your blinkers to work, your e-button is gone, they did a recall on this, call the dealer and ask if this recall pertains to you, if not you are still going to have to get it replaced cause thats the problem......

now with all the problems your having it sounds like your bcm( body control module) is funky, but everything could just be going out, window motor, wiper motor and what not.........

you might want to check your passenger side floor to see if its damp or anything, they have a problem with the deals, and water has been getting behind peoples dash's and messing with things, and them not working right, or not at all.........

Only question I can answer is grounding point. What I did is ground the amp to the seat bolts.

I'm almost positive it isn't that, but the BCM problem you mentioned did sound very close to the nature of the electrical wrong-ness.

Do you think that would cause the rear speakers to wig out too?

yes it definately could be, the bcm is located under the glove box(that area).........a lot of people have had trouble with water or condensation getting down there, and messing it up, now it doesnt hafta b water to mess it up it could be just going bad........its not hard to swap out I heard, try and find a deal maybe on ebay or a junk yard cuz im sure GM would try and rape you on it........

right where the trunk and back seats meet it is real easy to pull up the carpeting in the trunk if I remember right there was even a hole right where the seems were. just sand off the paint as was posted and bolt it down. Remember to keep the ground as short as you can.
