Alero/ House Warming/ Anniversary Meet

Time: Starting Friday night at 8pm!!!

Since we have so many things to celebrate we thought we would combine them. Please come and join us at our new house:



We are going to introduce ourselves and our Alero friends to our new neighbors (So behave Marc). We are going to have the usual chef...... Yikes.... Scot cooking brats, hamburgers, hot dogs and stuff. I don't know where the local forest preserve is but I will find one by then. Although we have a big enough yard to hook up some football, basketball, volleyball and whatever other activties we can think of. Maureen and Scot are going to celebrating their 8th year of marriage of the 21st and would love for you guys to come and help us celebrate.

Can't wait too see you there.... RSVP by September 12th.

Hey my dad and sister live in Joliet. I know Joliet pretty well. Bicentennial park would be a good place to meet at sometime. It is on the east side across the river from the Harrahs consino. I will probibly be there. :thumbsup:

Silver2003, I know joliet area pretty well too. When I go into joliet I either go through downtown lockport area, or go through the backway and come in through the east side. Right where Harrah's Casino is at. Most of the people I know live near the Cathedral Area of joliet. Pretty much near between Ingalls -to Jefferson and around Midland Ave. Maybe we might know the same people.

Pat and I are thinking about it, but it's really too far away yet to even know if he'll be in town.

Redog-Battle Creek sucks. I get so lost in that damn city every time I go. Don't trust any online map to get you anywhere in the city. Get directions from someone who lives there, or look it up on a real map. Totally unrelated, there's a wine outlet place on I-94 on my way to Battle Creek. They have lots of good Michigan wines, at decent prices.

ok chris and marc, how can Joliet be only 20 minutes from you? Marc lives in alsip and chris i think u what Live in cicero, maybe 20 minutes on the express way but from your house to scott's new place, 2o minutes seems a little far fetched. I live closer to joliet than both of you guys, and it takes me 25 minutes to get there......maybe 15 traffic what way i take and what part of joliet i'm hitting.

We will only be able to come out one day, mostly likely Sunday.

We are visiting Ms Redog's friend in Battle Creek and as it turns out she bought a house. They make settlement on Sept 10 and will have to help them move. uhggg I'm driving 700 miles to help someone move <_<

I'm thinking about comming down Sunday and leaving around 8 or 9 that night.

Now y'all can take pics of my poulliton pump. I didn't read the rest of the posts but I'm probably be the only Alero there with Northeast emmissions :thumbsup:

if heading I-55 south.........

get off at Route 30. come down to bottom of the ramp. make a right and take it, you will pass Olds dealer then the next light will be Renwick and right there on the corner to your left will be a super wash.


to my house coming from I-55 south.......

get off at Route 30. come to bottom of ramp get in far left turning lane. make left turn. Now most directions will tell you to go to Essington. Now for more detail. you go under the Interstate and come to another light. Go straight. the Next light there will be a Shell on your left. the sign says Mall Loop drive. this is also Essington. Make a left at the light. you come to a T make a left and the first street on right, make right, first driveway on left. When you are at the T if you look at 11 o'clock you can see my house.

Coming from the East (Michigan), would it be better to take the Skyway into Chicago and then follow 55 back out of town to get to you?

I just remember that the split there at 80/94 is always backed up and not sure if all of the construction is still going on around there or not.

I've looked up the directions, i think I've been out that way before so it shouldn't be to bad for me at all... just wasn't sure how bad it was going to be heading west on 80 from Indiana to I-55.

I have to get moving early on Sunday as I'm flying out for work that Monday for two weeks and I'll have to get packed up and get some stuff done.. but I should be there on Friday night.

Thanks... I know that I can stay on I-80 all the way to I-55.... I was wondering what the traffic was going to be like on a Friday night heading west from Indiana.

I haven't lived out that way for about 1 1/2 years, but usually there is a TON of traffic, and once you get past Hammond, IN you can't seem to go much faster than 10-15 miles an hour until you make it a ways past the I-80 / I-94 split (where 94 turns north towards the city).

However... if you hop on the skyway back near Gary, IN then you can make it across the boarder and into town in no time. I was thinking of doing something like that... then cut across the south end of Chicago towards I-55 and head south.

I'll have to check out where Larkin Street is... I don't recall that exit off hand, but that might be a good alternative. Just looking for a way to avoid traffic (yeah, right!) on the south side of city as I'm heading over. I won't be getting to Chicago until 6 or 6:30 PM on Friday which is going to be a mess.

2nd I know what you are talking about when it comes to the traffic jams on 80/94 area. i think usually those happen around broadway, and clint or clark st exits. usually there is no reason for it either. it also depends on what tiem u leave. i say if u leave around 6 or 7 u will definalty hit traffic. But i would suggest if u want to avoid traffic on those roads. go around 10 or 11, that way less traffic and u shouldnt be on the road that much longer.

If that was the problem, I'd do that. But nope, rotors and pads are brand spanking new. It's not getting any pressure in the lines. It's something to do with the brake booster or the master cylinder.
