All based on discussion from previous forum

1. Heat up the Emblem, you can use a blow dryer, heat gun, etc...

2. Use a piece of string, dental floss, fishing line, etc... to "saw" off the emblem from the vehicle.

3. If any glue or sticky stuff left, you can remove this with a rubbing compound such as Turtle Wax, Goo Gone, etc... and it will remove the glue. Lighter fluid works well too.

Note: You may use these instructions to remove all other exterior emblems.

after u guys took the emblems off, could u tell they were ever there? my friend just took them off his echo, and it looks like toyota clearcoated the car after they put the emblems on, so at certain angles u can tell they were there.

I could still tell where mine were for about six months after taking them off. It took two waxings before the spots finally blended well.

i could still tell mine were there too for a while.... on the olds symbol, the paint had bubbled up behind the logo... so it kind of took the shape of the emblem... but you have to know its there in order to see it, otherwise, you cant tell... i also took off those plastic things on the side of the car that run along in the middle of the doors.. cuz they were comming off anyway..

McGuire's (spelling?) Paint Cleaner works AWESOME!! I've removed emblems off about 10 of my friends' cars and I use that stuff to remove all the sticky crap off and it works GREAT!..I also took off my pinstriping and used it there too and it did well there too!

So for the olds symbols theres no guiding pins??

nope, no pins. My rx-7 had pins in all the rear emblems. When I pulled them off, I had a bunch of holes in the back of the car.

why, if you do take them off just get some strong ass 3m double sided tape or adhesive or some poop and stick em back on....

Or krylon fusion plastic paint. Really interested to see this color scheme. Post up some pics when you get some pink done.

I just took some goof off/sticker remover.. then took a old credit card and scraped off the emblems, after I did that I soap and water the spots, the quickly polish then wax the old spots. Took about a hour to do.

I just took off the emblems and side thingies today. The emblems and stuff came off smooth and perfect (can't even see where they were) but the sides left marks. Hopefully i can wax them out or something.

Hey guys has anyone removed these on a white car. I'm really worried it will be a lot easier to see on my white car.

i want to take of the word "ALERO" on the back because its so big and ugly, but keep the olds symbol and the word oldsmobile.

if i do this, is it possible to get a new "ALERO" decal from a dealer for when i go to sell it?

FYI: DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT 'GOOF OFF'. I used this where the dealer puts their stupid vinyl stickers...and it IMMEDIATELY took off a layer or two of clear coat. This is the professional strength 'Goof Off'. I was able to minimize the effects with Meguiar's gold class, but it was no good that's for sure!!!
