Quick question how to test guage cluster

Going to junkyard to get a cluster mine is fd millage doesn't show up speed sometimes work lol it got dropped and some water damage.
Question is what wires will show how much millage the cluster has? Want to find something close to my millage. They have batterys there to hook up to.
Any help is appericated

Print I have (for a 2002) shows a 24 pin plug (A1 to A12 and B1 to B12). Pos battery to pins A12 and A2. Neg to B7.

I might expect a lamp test and mileage readout but I've never tried this. I'd like to know what you find out.

If they leave a pigtail on the plug the colors should be:
A2-PPL
A12-ORG
B7-BLK/WHT

Just got my cluster to test motors and millage connect the black/white to negtive and orange is for motors and purple is for millage purple and orange must be hooked up to postive at same time for millage to pop up. Also if anyone needs a cluster I can get them for 15 bucks
