My alero finally finished. I present "My OSV"

Well, here it is. After almost a year of not having my car for the creation of the bodykit and having issues with Aldo after that and then getting deployed for a long time; I finally was able to get the kit painted and the exhaust tip done. still missing the muffler but I got an appointment on Friday to get it done. i thought about painting the mirrors too but if they get hit by a door or something the paint is just gonna come off, so i didnt bother with them.

oh, and yes, this is the first bodykit that was made for the group buy. some of the other guys i think got theirs painted before i did, but i think im the 1st one with the exhaust tip that is close to the original one. next, i have to work on the interior trim and the seats. and i still hope i can get my hands on the original rims, even though i dont think it'll ever happen.

it took 4 days to paint and attach the kit with the wing. they used 3M tape for the wing. and for the tip it took them a total of 4 hours to fabricate it and 1 hour of measuring, but the car was there for 2 days.

i wanted stainless steel for the tip, but they wanted 150 more to do it and they said it would be too heavy, so i stuck with aluminum. im not 100% happy with it but for now it'll work. maybe later i can afford a better one.

i want to drop it, but the car is already 4 inches off the ground. any lower and i'll destroy the kit. im gonna try to get bigger wheels in the near future to fill in the gap. the wheels are MSR, i just dont remember the style.

oh ok, yeah, i can repost them again, i changed the images to a diff folder in photobucket so thats why the images dont work.

i also got it kit painted to match the rest of the car and had a custom exhaust tip made to replicate the OSV exhaust tip. i'll post them late tonight after i get home from work.

yeah, the color is really nice. i was debating if i wanted to paint it the OSV green, but then i decided to keep this one cuz i rarely see other aleros out here with that color. the color is Steel Gray Metallic. i will see if i find the color code on the car for ya. just dont remember where to look for it. i think its on the driver door.

Cutting, molding, glass work, heat gun, c-clamps, oh let's see I have 59 hours in rear bumper. Now figure at normal shop rate at $50/hr. Oh I forgot cutoff wheel also.

Try the parts actually on the car and then go to town cutting and heating and molding then bonding and glaze and sand your ass off.

I am gonna wash my car tonight or tomorrow morning and i will take pics of the rear bumper and spoiler up close for you guys to see. my bodykit was the original one used, so it might look slightly diff than your guys since the actual bodykit companny installed it.

i have a few spots that were not done properly by the shop and i will post those too that way if you guys have the same issue you wont be alarmed.

probably could have, but given they were working off pictures, it is pretty decent... there are many issues with the rear bumper, spoiler and side skirts, but it has been made...

I'm so sick of doing things half assed...If I had the money to do this kit right, I would jump all over one! Sadly... I'm too broke for that, and it appears that I can fab my own one off kit for less.

They could have a TREMENDOUSLY better job making those kits. That turned out very nicely considering what crap that was to begin with. Its an amazing looking car.

Yeah, i agree. They could've definately done a way better job than what they did since they had the car almost 8 months if i remember correctly. It was supposed to be like a 12 week build and then they started issue after issue till they got it done after oldsnut started putting more pressure since they we're slacking.

The side skirts needed more re-inforcing on the ends since mine cracked off 2days after having them put on. theyre a but more reinforced now, but who knows how long theyll last on there.

Front bumper measurement is off also, driver side of the bumber is 5" off the ground while pass side is 6" off the ground. Cant tell the diff by looking at it until you go to jack the car up and your jack doesnt fit on one side cuz its too low. lol

I am happy with it though. it makes my car look different than the other aleros out here.

Honestly I gotta know how they or any body starts this, I want to make one and should eventually be able to and sell the kits as well. Some day:( Just need a farm house with a couple barns for all my stuff and to make the kits
