Ok well as some may know my 2.4 twin cam is nomore. Well today a freak thing happend My 98 cutlass/malibu got rear ended and yeah so im without a car all togeather. But i was thinking of putting my 3100 engine and trans into my alero sence it only had 80,000 miles on it and i know it runs great sence i have the whole car i know it shouldent be too hard sence the 3400 and 3100 are almost the same so i might be riding again i think lol

The biggest issue comes in the way of sensors, wiring, harness's and computer.
Mechanically speaking- should bolt right in.

Yeah thats what i was thinking. I mean my cutlass/malibu never let me down. i rather see her live on inside another olds. Lol i know sounds cheesy but i loved that car. But harness's and such shouldent be a prob sence i have a whole car

I would go for it.
No reason not to if the parts are free and in your possession.

I don't know if you ever saw darkchylde415's thread over on UM, but he put a 3400 in his Malibu that originally came with a 2.4, he hit a few snags but got it to work eventually.
